Trump made a big gamble by skipping the debate. He hoped that it would make it look as though he were negotiating from a position of strength, i.e. they need him more than he needs them. Instead, he came across as a child throwing a tantrum and picking up his toys because he doesn't like one of his playmates. It also sent a signal to many Iowa voters that he wasn't taking his own campaign seriously.

Not being Conservative & calling the people of Iowa stupid might have hurt some too.

Being an obvious liberal & trying to fool people into believing you are conservative may have done it for Trump, too.

In my opinion, Trump could end up sabotaging himself.

Trump’s childish attacks and lack of a ground game probably had something to do with it also. The majority of people don’t want to hear that stuff and get turned off by it.

Here’s my view on this....

- To the committed Trump voter it wouldn’t have made any diff.

- To the ‘undecided’ voter, they’re still trying to decide.

- The undecided voter waits.... ‘late into the process’.

- The debate missed was .... ‘late into the process’

- Trump NEEDED to be trying to SWAY to the ‘undecided’ voter that late into the process.

If skipping the debate and instead putting together an event to honor Veterans and donate $6 million that will go to those in need cost some Iowa voters not to vote for him, I say:

Whose loss was it, really?

What he did demonstrated Trump's true character. What a certain other campaign did to win shows theirs.

Our Vets would disagree...
They appreciate his efforts in raising 6 million for them....
....and giving the stage to a wounded Vet to tell his story

Wait a minute I though it was Cruz repeating CNN’s story that caused him to lose Iowa. He needs to pick a whine and stick with it.

Donald Trump on Tuesday said his decision to skip the last Republican debate before the Iowa caucuses may have led to his second-place finish in the Hawkeye State.

Poor judgment by Donald Duck, afraid of tough questions from a girl, thinking his ego can carry the day.

I used to like Trump, but the more I see of him, not so much.

The fact that he would give FNC and that bitch Kelly a chance to dance on his Iowa grave makes me question his sanity.

I don’t quite see it that way. If it did cost him Iowa (rather, it cost him a single delegate in that caucus) it served to place the media on notice that manipulating the debates isn’t going to be an easy thing this time around. It may not have been worth it to Trump but I think it may have been worth it to the country. Just my $0.02.

He also said that if he had to choose again between coming in second and raising $6M for veterans and coming in first and not raising $6M for veterans, he would pick coming in second.

In other news:
Meet Chad C. Sweet, Ted Cruz’s campaign chairman, former DoD/CIA/Goldman Sachs/Homeland Security.

Sweet co-founded the Chertoff Group with former Bush and Obama administration Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff.

As a leader of the Chertoff Group, Sweet “advocated for expanding NSA metadata collection.”

http://www.chertoffgroup.com/bios/chad-sweet.php

Meet Ted’s ex-CIA PR guy, Dan P. Gabriel. Gabriel is involved in SIGINT aka interception - which is turned into propaganda. His twitter handle is @danpgabriel and he was one of the people pushing the angle that it was confirmed to the Cruz campaign that Carson was dropping out. After called out on the lie, the agent deleted the tweet and denies everything in typical spook fashion:

Ted Cruz PR CONFIRMED government agent! Actively working for Soros & US Army! Rabbit hole time...
