Cruz could have obtained a Canadian passport at any time up until Canada recognized his renunciation of Canadian citizenship.

Or is your argument that "no passport, no citizenship?" If so, there are a couple hundred million people in the US who aren't US citizens - no US passport.

"Cruz could have obtained a Canadian passport at any time up until Canada recognized his renunciation of Canadian citizenship."

But first they probably would have asked him if he intended to give up his US passport.

This is all about nothing, …and Cruz is not my first choice.

So what? There are 5 million Jews in America who can go to Israel tomorrow and get an Israeli passport. The same is true for a few other countries. It doesn't mean they aren't natural born citizens. Neither one of my US-born parents (Both born to immigrants) had a birth certificate, but they voted in every election. Were they citizens? They thought so. Were they "natural-born?"
