“A Few”
Ha. A lot more than a few.
Just how much time do you imagine that those Cruz kids actually get to spend time with their parents.....REALLY, under normal circumstances? I bet it isn't much. And they've been over used and abused during this primary season.
I’ll let you know when/if I find out anything. :-)
“Levin and Rush claim they are all about the issues yet they never once have mentioned Cruz enabling Obama’s secret TPP. Curious. Very curious, IMO.”
I’m weary of these and other spin doctors and cheapjacks. More than anything, ‘conservative’ talk radio made us too complacent and submissive to the GOPe for a quarter century now. Some are better than others, and there have been moments that were golden, but mostly they lulled us to sleep and complacency during the utter dismantling of the Reagan revolution under the neocon shadow.
To my astonishment, Hannity has been at his peak in this cycle.
Thanks. I didn’t have the Portsmouth one.
Finally had enough of Cruz and Rush claiming Trump is for Single Payer so asked his supporters what was the Cruz plan to restore the insurance industry. Crickets except the dozen or so calling me a socialist or Bernie lover.
Not one attempt at an answer. If he is going to lie about Trump, what is his?
Lighten up, Francis. Maybe you haven't seen me on this thread before, but search my posts and you'll see I've been a Trump supporter right along and catching crap from the Cruzbots because of it.
I am that way too. There is just something about him. We may find out sooner rather than later.
Unfortunately Trump didn’t win last night, but I think he did really well all things considered. At the caucus location I voted at last night, they ran out of new voter registrations and ballots. Apparently the turnout was unprecedented.
Cruz won that particular precinct overwhelmingly, but not surprising. The town is so Christian fundie, they don’t even have a bar! The local fundie church had their congregation there and presumably voted as a block (as they had for Huckabee and Santorum in previous years).
Aside from the religious fundamentalists, most of the regular voters were seniors - in their 70s and 80s (or older). Most of the new voters and dem/independent voters appeared to be the younger crowd 20s-60s, decidedly blue collar, not the church lady types that dominate the local republican party. From listening to them, probably the majority were Trump voters.
I’ve lived here about 15 years, and can say that as a whole, Iowa is NOT representative of the greater US. Iowa’s economy wasn’t affected by the Bush/Obama/Globalist incompetence (or was it perfidy?) as the rest of the country was. Also remember that Iowa has among the lowest unemployment rates in the country (and a comparatively low crime rate). So, a lot of the angst that Trump has tapped into elsewhere in the country isn’t prevalent here.
That being said, if you examine the returns from a county, city, or precinct level, then you could better extrapolate Trump’s potential in the rest of the country...
Webster county is the location of Fort Dodge, a rust belt type town with a large ‘urban youth’ drug and violent crime problem. Trump eeked out a win there. Just north is Humboldt county, which acts as a commuter suburb of Fort Dodge (i.e. white middle class). Trump did very well there— bodes well for rust belt states in the USA.
Dickinson County and Clay are home to the Lakes Region and Spencer. Trump scraped by a win in Clay, and won outright in Dickinson (location of Lake Okoboji, and where a lot of rich folks have their vacation homes). Dickinson is upper middle class, fiscal conservative country, not so much so/con— there’s a strip club there, night clubs, and lots of alcohol serving establishments(not something you find in the surrounding bible belt counties)— bodes well for the liberal NE (NY, MA, VT, etc).
The very rural and economically depressed county of Fremont went for Trump— 42.7%! The area has a lot of good, hard working, common sense conservatives. Bible thumpers don’t have much sway in this area— lots of bars and one strip club. It has a southern, red-neck feel to it. Lots of pro-2nd amendment folks here. Lots of poverty but very low crime rate. Should bode well for Trump’s performance in the South, West, etc.
Towns/areas that went for Cruz were the ones with both (a) heavy evangelical presence and (b) strong local economy and/or very low unemployment rate. Since these two characteristics are NOT representative of most of the country, the bottom line is that Cruz is a shoe-in for President of Iowa. Of the USA? Not likely.
I want Trump too....yooohoooo!
I truly believe that Mr Trump will take the best of everyone from each party that still loves America....and make us ONE AGAIN!
Hmm your instincts are correct:

They are pitting the two bulls against each other.
No money in this fight,
I am a Ted Cruz girl.
Well, I don’t “live in a bubble” and so far, have only heard of ONE ex-Cruzer who is now for Rubio, in Texas, and that was BEFORE last night in Iowa. I have yet to hear of ANYONE who is for Rubio!
It would still be listed on the ballot until after the challenge has been heard.
Here’s the timetable

Joyce told WND he expects the Illinois Elections Board to meet to consider his recommendation the first or second week of February, when each side will be allowed to address the board.
He calculates it will be impossible for the Illinois Elections Board as a whole to reach a decision prior to the Iowa caucuses, and it still uncertain whether the it could reach its decision even before the New Hampshire primary scheduled for Feb. 9.
âBut I do expect the board to reach a decision before the South Carolina primary on Saturday, Feb. 20,â he said. âHowever, once the Illinois Elections Board makes its decision, the judicial review process begins, and who knows how long that will take.â

I believe he has said “universal” but not “single-payer.” They don’t have to mean the same thing. Health care can belong to the states and still be universal.
Think of education. Properly it is run by the states alone, yet it is illegal to neglect your child’s schooling.
I look forward to the complete Trump health care plan. I’m sure he has all the best experts and it will be a doozy.
But you still have to give your dinner men u; it's what WE TRUMPERS do on RALLY threads. :-)
Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful analysis and report of the Caucuses!
Great sitrep post. Thank you.
Wow, that’s a great price!
I have a habit of stocking up on sales, and my new extra big freezer is stuffed! I never thought I’d fill it and wanted to keep a shelf free for things I bake. oh well...
