The Carson camp claimed Cruz's team spread false rumors at caucus sites that Carson had dropped out.
Ben Carson was incensed as the results of Monday night's Iowa caucuses rolled in, accusing the winner of spreading falsehoods about him at caucus sites.

And out come the insults. Posters like you are why I've been off FR. No refutation, just insults.
Posters like you do nothing for FR, your candidate or your country. You silence discourse just like liberals do with insults.
Please: NO profanity, NO personal attacks, NO racism or violence in posts.
The way I read Steve King’s tweets is that he took a tweet from a Chris Moody talking about what Carson was doing and then King twisted it into the idea that Carson was suspending, then he was probably quitting his campaign.
It may be politics, but it’s still a lie, white or not.
By the standards you apply routinely to Cruz, your statement above is a lie:
This image indicates Cruz did NOT say Carson had dropped out, as you said he did. This image shows Cruz citing what CNN had reported, which is apparently factual unless you can prove otherwise. What Cruz did with it in asking his people to use CNN's report to urge Carson supporters to support him is therefore within bounds.
It may be that Cruz' people were saying that Carson had dropped out, but that sounds like the kind of wishful thinking on their part that led you to misinterpret Cruz' message above, the kind of desperate rumor that is very hard for a candidate to control or contain, just as we see you doing here. So unless you can prove Cruz knew CNN made no such report, you don't have any basis for your claim.
This will give the media the opportunity to slam Cruz and push Rubio. Trump coming in second is good enough for the media to start ignoring him.
Winners also lie about another candidate droppi g out. Winning! Lol
Wow. How weak of a candidate was Carson if an opposing candidate can knock him out of the contest by suggesting that he’s packing it in after tomorrow???
I too like Carson...but I’ve seen NO evidence that he’s willing to put up a fight to win the nomination or to compete for the presidency.
Perhaps Carson should have started his political career by running for a Senate seat first.
Running for President is no time to learn the game of politics.
Winners also lie about another candidate dropping out. Winning! Lol
So what's it mean when you are telling supporters that you're in for the "long haul" but someone else, by implication, isn't?
Cruz supporters remind me of democrats. They’ll come up with an excuse no matter what Cruz does.
Candidates still trying to run a serious campaign don’t abandon their troops during this most critical period of the campaign. Ifor they need clothes they have a staffer get some for them. I think Carson is considering dropping out but didn’t want it to go public yet.
Some Ted Cruz supporter on Twitter, appears to be a high profile individual, but no clue who he is (his name is Dan Gabriel), apparently spread info on his page that sources inside Camp Carson told him Carson was dropping out. He then deleted the tweet later on and began blaming Donald Trump for spreading Carson rumor:

You must be half crooked yourself to excuse fraud with a brush-off such as that lame one liner you threw out there.
Cruz’ greasy tactics are starting to remind me exactly of Hillary tactics, clawing her way to the top.
This is soo bad that I honestly hope it shakes out that Rubio or Bush, or the GOPE are behind it.
Otherwise, if Cruz owns this one, like he did the damn mailer, his public prayers of thanksgiving will take on somewhat of a pall, a spell rather than a prayer.
Not good for Cruz.
It means you have to change the subject because you've been caught with another hyperbolic fib, again.
Cruz supporters remind me of democrats. Theyâll come up with an excuse no matter what Cruz does.
Trump supporters remind me of democrats. Theyâll come up with an excuse no matter what Trump does.
I’m sorry; what’s your point again?
Sad. If we are going to beat the elite donor class, will need to unify. They are picking the outsiders off.
And as far as delegates go, Trump will easily win N.Y. and other BIG DELEGATE states....OUTRIGHT. In order to even be considered to be the nominee, the candidate has to win at least 8 states outright. Which means that Iowa, N.H., and Nevada don't count towards that goal.
I suggest that it is YOU, who needs to get back to ME, much later; didums.
You best hope this isn’t real. That’s all you’ll have if it’s true, is hope.
Hillary tactics are generally frowned upon by most. However there is a picture of the tweet, complete with the Cruz 2016 logo attached.
He can blame it on someone else as he did the filing error, or McConnell on TPA, or back away from it like he did TPA, or AMNESTY for all but “those who are ‘caught’”, or the quadrupling of foreign workers.
Eventually, all that “look over there” stuff gets tiresome.
Especially when he comes into the South, where they frown on all of the above, and waffling around with AMNESTY.
Another thing about Cruzers. They can’t come up with an original thought so they just repeat what was said to them but change the names.
