A search shows that nobody's opened up a live thread for tonight's caucuses. So here goes.
Predictions? For both the GOP and Dem nominations?
Eyewitness Accounts? See any funny business going on?
Goldwater?
LoL, Fox had Cruz’s person talking and she started naming all those that attacked Cruz but neglected to mention Kelly (you could see she wasn’t sure if she would be named or not).
I was still trying to figure out how the Dems do it.
The 1323 are not votes. They are awarded local delegates. The raw vote total is not reported.
equality ???
equal rights to the votes..
affirmative action in elections ???
equal “pay”
:)
Man you are all over that
CNN reporting Democratic officials numbers will not be announced until tomorrow.
So Hillary gets her ‘Hillary won’ headlines.
Rubio also gave a speech as if he won.
Cruz has to “validate” the Iowa win with (at the very least) stronger than expected showings in NH and/or SC. Or else he goes to the dustbin of history with Huckabee and Santorum.
Iowa is an odd bird and gets odder with each primary season. I wish like hell we’d change this process!
Trump has to regain his balance and stave off the inevitable “he is freefalling” memes. He put a lot into winning Iowa let’s see if he learned from defeat.
Rubio’s showing (which I’m highly suspicious of) is the real wild card. It’s the death knell for Jeb, as the GOPe has their savior now. Rubio is palatable enough for the talk radio types to forge that middle ground between Cruz/Trump and the GOPe in a lot of Republican voters minds.
Sooo. Will Trump attack Rubio more than Cruz now? Will Rubio hit Cruz hard? What will Cruz try to do going into NH?
Yes, yes , yes, we all know here what a disappointment Rubio is as a Senator. But to the great average voter, only barely aware of political nuance, he is a conservative former Florida house speaker who gave a conservative speech at the convention a few years back and is now ending his first term in the Senate.
In their minds, he is conservative and not establishment. All the old establishment types and establishment governors went down with less than 25% between them.
I have personal experience ... don’t lecture me ... you have no clue
That’s all we got, the conservative message.
A career politician took 1st and another career politician took 3rd. Both are financed by open border, big banks, and rigged trade.
If anything, tonight was a vote for TPP.
Yea, hardly a true conservative (as they are understood today), but we can go with that...even though no one could have beaten LBJ in 64....but let’s go with it...
So over half a century ago??? Hmmmm.... I think I’ll hedge my bets with the most conservative in the bunch....
Iowa caucus | Results î 95.06% reporting Candidates % Delegate Strength Hillary Clinton 49.89% Bernie Sanders 49.59% Martin O'Malley 0.53%
Love the excuses and Monday morning quarterbacking. It’s fun watching you eat crow.
Fox is still pushing Speedy Gonzalez as the “big story” of the night. It’s stupid logic. Just because he surged in the polls today doesn’t make it more important than Cruz winning just because his surge happened a few weeks ago and he stayed steady.
You said...
“Meanwhile, Hillary tonight just came out in favor of single payer universal healthcare. Sheâs got to run to the left.”
If she gets the nomination, she has troubles that go beyond the email issue.
If she chooses to run on BHO’s third term, that could help her in the primary but hurt her in the general. if she runs against it, it not only could hurt her in the primary but can encourage BHO’s Justice Dept to indict
Trump now has 8 IA delegates to Cruz’s 8?
Iowa is weird...
