Trump’s negatives are higher than Cruz’s negatives.
Cruz made the mistake of attacking Trump. It opened the door for Rubio and the GOPe.

There’s a guy on MSNBC right now that said he thought Rubio might place 2nd as there are votes from their area that aren’t in yet. Sheesh!

Why do you suppose Cruz sealed his birth records. Did he ever unseal them? Was he ever asked about that?
If Trump drops out, the meltdown on this site will be of epic proportions.
Compared to that meltdown, the Sarah-drops-out meltdown of 2012 would be like a stick of butter, slowly softening on the kitchen counter. In January.
How would Trump ever get above the 25% he got here in a state like Iowa, if Cruz stays in? Which voters of Rubio, Carson, Bush, Christie, etc. would switch to Trump if they dropped out?
The reality of the overall polls is that Trump can never get over 50% even in one-on-one matches. Someone who only appeals to a minority of Republicans is a probably loser in the general election.

They did not have enough voter registration forms. They didn't have enough parking. They had traffic backups to prevent individuals from getting to the caucus locations.
Somebody had to know this would have happened and intentionally did not take measures to overcome these issues. I call it rigged.

Rubio took some of Trumps votes...5-7% of it.
I did some googling, from a web site put out by Breckinridge, Colorado it appears that the town was named after the Confederate Secretary of War, I got it wrong I thought he was their Vice President.

Amen brother. As a Cruz supporter I’m neither giddy nor upset because it’s a long road to Cleveland. I expect Trump to clobber Cruz and the rest of the field in New Hampshire next week and that would set up South Carolina as a real battleground. Your bigger point about the three insurgents Trump, Cruz, and Carson, getting nearly two-thirds of the vote tonight should be a signal to the GOPe that we’re gonna fight them tooth and nail for the party’s soul. As for Rubio, OK he’s having a pretty good night, but it’s one state and forty nine left to go. On to New Hampshire!
We don’t need an “alpha male.†We’re not a tinpot third world dictatorship. Intelligence is what we need and what Cruz delivers.
Congrats on Cruz’s great showing tonight. But I disagree. We do need an alpha male. We are owned and Cruz just doesn’t have the independence to fight the oligarchy ruling us. We are a dictatorship where the head of state changes both names and parties, but remains usually within the bought and paid for cabal.
Also, not one liberal will ever vote for Ted Cruz.
