A search shows that nobody's opened up a live thread for tonight's caucuses. So here goes.
Predictions? For both the GOP and Dem nominations?
Eyewitness Accounts? See any funny business going on?
Don’t worry. Iowa totaly is 1% of the national voter base and even with tonight’s turnout a small fraction of Iowa voters actually come to caucus.
Been saying missing the debate was a strategic blunder. Iowa voters viewed it as a big poke in eyes.
“Cruz isnt eligible to be POTUS.”
Nonsense.
Actually I prefer Trum by a wide margin.
There’s nothing to be gained right now by being snarky or a childish winner.
I’m sitting here watching the results roll in and some people make fools of themselves.
If Ted wins, he worked hard for it and that’s fine by me.
It will get downright ugly around here if Rubio sneaks up and bumps Trumpy to number 3.....
I have been watching this too.
I spread the truth .. Go Trump !
I sure hope you are right.
For some reason, CNN only has 55% of the vote in, while Fox has 67% in.
I'm not sure if Trump would have been better off being at the debate. If the moderators had asked similarly difficult questions of Trump, Trump would have not had any good answer, especially with follow-up questions. Cruz was prepared and would have ripped Trump a new one.
Operation chaos Democrat version?
Totally agree with you.
As I see it Cruz, Trump and Rubio can come in at first to third, any of the three positions is a good position.
That was the "theory" .... whether or not that would turn out to be true has always been a matter of opinion.
Same here.
I get Trump= Reagan democrats
Cruz = shills
Right.....
I wonder what the total number of votes cast is. I imagine the Rep number is far greater. The Reps are expected to set a record of 150,000 votes cast.
That he isn't Hillary (of course) or the Donald, or the widely despised in the media and the GOPe Cruz (who I still support, regardless) and seems like he's got some amount of smarts?
In one debate he spoke accurately on who was who in Syria, brief as it was. I don't think the Donald could have matched that, but Cruz isn't at all far behind in working knowledge of overseas politics (and conflicts) -- or so I take it.
Hillary's so-called "Smart Power" on the other hand, has been an unmitigated disaster. The only reason it wasn't even worse is that she wasn't effective even in screwing everything up. Those of foreign nations who dealt with her, if they had much savvy at all, would obviously enough realize that she was just temporary, flash-in-the-pan, not truly representing the USA, but instead only the Hussein Obama administration.
I won't be forgiving her for her and Zippy's contributions to the so-called "Arab Spring" which brought radical Islamists into power in many locales, and weaponized some of them them, too.
Yeah, but Trump had Santorum’s ground game manager from 2012...Would love to be a fly on the wall with the conversation tonight between the two of them.
If Trump loses...and he very well might. I expect him to adjust his game accordingly. Pretty wild tonight.
