Clinton bought the iPad herself and sometimes used it for email, according to Hillaryclinton.com.
“Clinton relied on her Blackberry for emailing,” according to the campaign site. “This was easiest for her. When the iPad came out in 2010, she was as curious as others and found it great for shopping, browsing, and reading articles when she traveled. She also had access to her email account on her iPad and sometimes used it for that too.”
Then how did she correspond with people about yoga class, wedding details, etc., that she admits having done?

Remember the Urban Legend about George H.W. Bush not knowing that supermarkets used bar code scanners at the checkout? Despite the fact that there was no truth to the story, the media was more than happy to treat it as fact, and used it to ridicule Bush. Now, instead of using Hillary’s supposed lack of basic computer skills as a basis for criticism, it’s being used to justify her mishandling of Top Secret information.

Pure Clintonian spin tactics. They’ve been trotting out various focus-group tested explanations over the past several days, looking for anything that might resonate. How many times did you hear someone refer to the “culture of over-classification,” or “the e-mails didn’t originate with her?” Those arguments didn’t work, so now we’re expected to believe that HRC is an idiot (which I believe) and incapable of using Outlook on a State Department computer.
They’re getting desperate in the Clinton camp. The FBI is “super pissed” (as a source told Catherine Herridge of Fox News) and the Intel Community is equally upset. Both know how to play the leak game and they’re masters at death by a thousand cuts.
Obama may yet throw Hillary a lifeline, but the scandal will destroy her campaign.

I also remember the ‘Bush out of touch’ meme. IIRC, he was actually at an exposition of supermarket equipment (not at the corner store, as the media portrayed it). And the vendor was showing off a scanner that could read damaged bar codes. Bush was acting like a good ‘guest’ and saying ‘wow, that’s impressive’ when the technology was demonstrated to him.
