A group called "Indian-Americans for Trump 2016" registered with the Federal Election Commission as a political action committee on Jan. 21. The group hopes to garner the support of Indian Americans to elect Donald Trump as the next president of the United States.
The group's president, A.D. Amar, a business professor at Seton Hall University, told NBC News that discussions about the PAC first started in December. "I was surprised at the strength Trump had among the Indian professionals and Indian community," he said. "I have never seen Indians so united behind a candidate."
**snip**
Amar cited Trump's stances on illegal immigration and the economy as key factors for the group's support of him. He also said that the group's members were drawn to the fact that Trump has said he will not be taking money from PACs or special-interest groups.
"Trump is going to keep the lobbies out, and he is going to focus on the general population," Amar said.

Both.
Exactly.
Some posters seem to be clueless; I hope it's the exception at Free Republic.
“He also said that the group’s members were drawn to the fact that Trump has said he will not be taking money from PACs or special-interest groups.”
so why are they forming a PAC then if Trump isn’t taking from them?
I’m guessing “back in bowl” Indian. Reference: All of Me movie.
âHe also said that the groupâs members were drawn to the fact that Trump has said he will not be taking money from PACs or special-interest groups.â
so why are they forming a PAC then if Trump isnât taking from them?
I don’t know if Trump not taking super pacs is just for primary of for Campaign.
National campaign will cost 1 billion, Trump may be able to afford it, but maybe there is a middle ground.
Trump could stipulate that Pacs agree never to expect favors and are contractually forbidden to Lobby President Trump. I would allow support with no strings.
Alternative, is all donors in this case Indian Americans will directly donate to a group that aggregates donations from everyone at the election limits and the Pac has no special interest other than electing Mr. Trump.
I wonder if anyone would get butt hurt if the “White American PAC’ came out in support of Trump?
Maybe Lizzy “Hiawatha” Warren too. HA
Are these woo-woo-woo Indian-Americans or are they the elephant-riding American-Indians? Inquiring minds want to know1
“But Trump wants to CRUSH H1-B visas.”
HA HA HA. Denial already? Trump will do NONE OF THE ABOVE he has been pandering to get votes lately. When the primaries are over (and God-forbid he wins the nomination), he will revert back to his usual self — legalize illegals, expand H1Bs, and pay off cronies to build ‘electronic’ wall. He will suspend deportations while the nationalists cry foul and how a fraud non-conservative got them — AGAIN — this time.
That could happen with Trump. That would happen with ever other one of these losers.
It's could vs would.
consider that wall is a trump metaphor for the mexican army stopping the border crossings
The only problem is that a bulk of Republicans, once again, picking a progressive — with a populist flavor. The ONLY reason they are fantasizing over Trump is that the egomaniac is pulling all the right populist cords. In the back of you head, you must be thinking that this is just to pander until the primaries are over.
You cannot possibly believe that a life-long progressive Trump is going somehow magically transform himself at 79.
Maybe there’s a difference in the thinking of an Indian-from-India-Indian and a Indian-from India-American?
The HB1’s from India could very well be keeping the wages down of the Indians who are here to stay.
I am so happy that y’all are enjoying your private joke.
O fer cryinoutloud, I just gotit. Carry on.
FWIW, Dot is usually referred to as Indian-American, feather is usually referred to as American Indian.
There are two separate aspects to this. Trump is OFFERING an alternative, a Nationalist position, to standard politics that nobody else has offered in a long, long time. He has said he will build a wall and stop illegal immigration if you elect me. It is my opinion that the American voter will respond to that Nationalist message in a positive way-big time. This is sending a message to the Establishment what a huge number of people want and that is pro American agenda. Trump could be BS-ing but a clear cut message has been sent.
The other aspect is whether Trump actually follows thru as President on these promises. Well that is TBD, and if he doesn't then someone else will pick up the Nationalist banner. If he does then that would be great too. To me that almost is irrelevant to message that the American people are not going to take the glowBULList BS any longer and we will find someone to get the job done.
The tragedy of the situation is that a true constitutional conservative is actually running this time and he is made out to look like an usurping foreigner.
Trump is not a conservative and doesn’t even pretend to be one. He is firing on all populist cylinders. His problem is that the democrats are better at playing this game. Trump cannot possibly offer gubmint solutions better than the Dems.
On Nov 9, the Repubs will have a rude awakening when Trump is destroyed by the socialists. A once is a generation opportunity to nominate a conservative would have been lost and conservatism is playing second fiddle to populism forever.
Central_va gets it. Trump is offering a ‘Reformed’ Alternative to the visions laid out by either Republicans or Democrats. It’s based on ideas expoused by Pat Buchanan in the early 90’s, a philosophy at the core that puts The interests of American workers first.
You are about to get an education.
