Will Jeb Bush win the Republican nomination?
Washington Post ^ | 1/31/16 | Aaron Blake

This look at Jeb Bush's chances and path to win the Republican presidential nomination is part of a series here on The Fix looking at all the top candidates.

Where does he stand in the polls?

The former Florida governor began the race as the odds-on Republican front-runner, and the early polling backed that up. He led most every national poll conducted in late 2014 and traded leads with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, among others, early in 2015.

Then, the race actually began. Bush launched his campaign in mid-June, and by mid-July began a steady decline. While he topped out at around 17 percent, most national polls now have him stuck in the back of the pack, around 5 percent.

The picture is about the same in Iowa. In New Hampshire, he does slightly better, coming in around 10 percent with a bunch of other candidates essentially tied for second place. That still leaves Bush in a jumbled race of non-Trumps, but it does appear to be his best hope for a state to win.

How has he performed?

Bush's campaign has been the most underwhelming of the entire race.

As I posted on another thread, if they look like they are going to pull these shenanigans - should be able to ferret this out in the coming months - "Then we get the whole nation talking about it so when the convention comes there are a million (maybe two) Patriots in Cleveland on July 18 at the biggest Tea Party Rally ever making sure no shenanigans take place. Everyone, I mean a Washington Mall type rally. . retirees, bikers, truckers, all Red Blooded American Patriots who want to take our country back. If this gets going, I'll be there."

We need people on the inside to report to us what shenanigans are brewing. If it's definitely on deck at the Republican Convention, then it's Red Alert time and a million Patriots descend on Cleveland July 18th.

“Is that guy crossing his eyes on purpose?”

No. That is his face.

That isn’t the only thing that is off kilter about him either:

The RNC can declare Cruz ineligible for “the good of the party” because of “unresolved legal challenges” based on his Canadian birth.

Will Yebbie start crying uncontrollably...and, then, his mommie will hug him in a warm blanket? That is more likely for this loser.

Jeb would be great, and as good a president as his father and brother!

I belonged to a Republican Women’s group at the time George P was running. Seemed to me like most of the membership supported George P, Cornyn, Pete Olson and the Chamber of Commerce.

Didn’t take me long to get out of there and we live in a solid Republican County and District, except for our local Mayor who is a Democrat. Seems like he has been in office for almost 50 years and will probably remain there until he dies. The Bush name is almost holy in parts of Texas, even though in our house it’s “anyone but a Bush”.

Oh my, then all bets are off as to what they might try. . Besides Cruz, how can they get rid of Trump if he wins all the primaries?

I couldn’t stomach McAmnesty.
I was barely able to hold my nose hard enough for Romney.
Trump by comparison will be no problem.

Yes...I think that’s the plan
.
Our county GOP leader kinda said as much at our last meeting...And I think he is hoping so...he’s run for Governor and been very active in State politics for years...and not really a tea party type

“I couldn’t stomach McAmnesty.”
- ditto
“I was barely able to hold my nose hard enough for Romney.”

“Trump by comparison will be no problem.”
- That’s where we differ. Trump is even worse than McAmnesty and Romney. A completely different kind of worse but worse. I have had enough. It will be third party or write-in for me if Trump is the candidate. I am not a Republican. I am certainly not going to force myself to vote for a person that should be running as a liberal Democrat.

Everyone has to make their own decision.
The number one priority is stopping the illegal alien inundation.
If we fail, we lose the country.

TX doesn’t have write-in votes unless one files as a “write-in” candidate within 45 days of a general election. Often the write-ins are not even tabulated on the secretary of state’s website.

Mayors in TX can be Democrats but they run without party in the state. It is the same in AR, I believe, but not in LA.
