Today I was shown a piece of literature from the Cruz for President campaign that misrepresents the role of my office, and worse, misrepresents Iowa election law. Accusing citizens of Iowa of a "voting violation" based on Iowa Caucus participation, or lack thereof, is false representation of an official act. There is no such thing as an election violation related to frequency of voting. Any insinuation or statement to the contrary is wrong and I believe it is not in keeping in the spirit of the Iowa Caucuses.
Additionally, the Iowa Secretary of Stateâs Office never "grades" voters. Nor does the Secretary of State maintain records related to Iowa Caucus participation. Caucuses are organized and directed by the state political parties, not the Secretary of State, nor local elections officials. Also, the Iowa Secretary of State does not "distribute" voter records. They are available for purchase for political purposes only, under Iowa Code." - Paul D. Pate, Iowa Secretary of State

The guy at Post 39 says Cruz’ campaign manager admitted sending it. . .I don’t know, I’m busy doing stuff today and have no idea where a link is proving that allegation.
How nice to know I won't be hounded by fundraising emails.
Which campaign used it before?
It’s a distasteful form of political advertising, this example of it seems particularly pernicious, and many of us have been seeing email tactics from the Cruz camp that are not that far behind this in offensiveness. His cash collection scheme has been out-of-this-world but many of us don’t like it.
I’m not talking about the general, I’m talking about the primary.
“I hope Ted can ride this out.”
Its not the fall that kills you its the sudden stop. :-)
I just doubt that Cruz even saw it before it went out. I don’t think he would’ve approved it personally. I would guess he would tell his campaign not to send those out again but I don’t think it would rise to the level of feeling it necessary to fire someone.
His campaign has admitted it and they will not apologize.
So yeah. He’s that stupid.
Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler confirmed to IJ Review that the mailer was theirs in a phone call Friday evening, saying that the targeting had been ''very narrow, but the caucuses are important and we want people who haven't voted before to vote.'' (link)
You can't really know exactly what was done and still support it. You would be OK with you and your neighbors being named like that?
So Cruz did nothing that hasn’t been done b a number of other candidates in the past.
Cruz does the same thing and the Trumpites are suddenly outraged.
Never mind that Trump has been politically connected to high-rankuing Democrats at the local, city, state, and national levels when it suited his crony capitalistic projects and liberal ideals.
Even those these are undisputed facts, the Trumpites simply choose to ignore them and in their fantasy world, think somehow Trump has changed. They have suspended all rational thoughts in their minds.
Sucks to be Ted Cruz this weekend.
I've donated to him and have been getting lots of cash collection letters. It's their right to do. Junk mail doesn't bother me. I don't read it and just throw it out.
They’re all over
type Cruz campaign admits voter shaming mailing into google
Cruz campaign admitted to doing it
Can’t blame you for voting your fave there. That will have an effect even on Trump’s approach should he make the nomination, it will look more Cruz-like.
Trump never threatened to close his ears. I hope people realize this of Trump, and take advantage of it. If he blusters, let the bluster at least drive the sails in the right direction.
Link?
Now back to the BBQ. . .
