Today I was shown a piece of literature from the Cruz for President campaign that misrepresents the role of my office, and worse, misrepresents Iowa election law. Accusing citizens of Iowa of a "voting violation" based on Iowa Caucus participation, or lack thereof, is false representation of an official act. There is no such thing as an election violation related to frequency of voting. Any insinuation or statement to the contrary is wrong and I believe it is not in keeping in the spirit of the Iowa Caucuses.
Additionally, the Iowa Secretary of Stateâs Office never "grades" voters. Nor does the Secretary of State maintain records related to Iowa Caucus participation. Caucuses are organized and directed by the state political parties, not the Secretary of State, nor local elections officials. Also, the Iowa Secretary of State does not "distribute" voter records. They are available for purchase for political purposes only, under Iowa Code." - Paul D. Pate, Iowa Secretary of State

I think it’s perfectly legal.
And a really dumb move.
What you or I think is legal, might not be.
I’ve got a four letter word for this-
O - U - C - H
Like you cruzaders are any better.
Confirmed that it was a fraud or that he authorized it? Do you have a link?
In my hometown in the rural South the blacks outnumber the whites two to one. Every election day the whites burn up the phone lines of those who haven’t voted and encourage them to get to the polls. They get the numbers and list of who hasn’t voted from the county clerk and it is legal. And it works. They’ve still got a white sheriff and white county judge and DA.
The blacks tried to sue but the case was thrown out.
However, note it’s the voters calling other voters. It’s not a candidate mailing someone who didn’t vote in the last election and telling them they got an “F” on a “voter report card”.
Well, you’re talking to one .. so what’s your problem with the choice I make. I’m not making fun of you or your choice .. what’s up with that ..??
We have invested over in Ted Cruz and it comes down to this?
While distasteful act on Ted’s campaign part, where do we go?
Yeb! Hillary!
Trump? He is my #2, but primarily to shake things up.
I expect few conservative positions from Trump once we get into the general.
Trump is the best man for the job because he isn’t a lying politician and he has the backbone to get things done. With him, nothing is second best and it always has to be the best.
....”he isnât a lying politician”....
Oh really?..........The thing about Trump is that he’s so blase’ about lying, and does it so frequently, that people tend to forget how many made-up facts they’ve heard from him.
CAMPAIGN OP HERE!!!!!!
Check Drudge now Jack wagon
LOL, slow news day!
Top of the page ready for the Sunday shows. Sorry for your bad luck POLITICAL OPERATIVE!
The Cruz campaign confirmed this mailer.
“Cruz’s campaign quickly confirmed the origins of the mailer,”
This just destroys any respect I had for Cruz as a politician. It's what I'd expect from phishing spammers, not conservative candidates. It makes me wonder if a history of similar tone deaf errors accounts for his unpopularity in the senate, as opposed to his ardent supporter's theory that he's hated because he's just so darn virtuous and pure.
If this fiasco has taught him anything it's that he should be involved in approving things and more aware of what his foolish underlings are doing.
But it's too late this cycle. Maybe he can apply the lesson in 2020. Assuming he hasn't joined Santorum in involuntary political retirement by then.
good info
