I just binge-read eight books by Donald Trump. Here’s what I learned.

From memoirs to financial advice to politics, inside the collected writings of Donald J. Trump.

Sitting down with the collected works of Donald J. Trump is unlike any literary experience I’ve ever had or could ever imagine. I spent this past week reading eight of his books — three memoirs, three business-advice titles and his two political books, all published between 1987 and 2011 — hoping to develop a unified theory of the man, or at least find a method in the Trumpness.

What you would like a Trump administration do has no bais in reality. On the other hand, everything you want in a Trump administration, you would actually get in a Cruz administration.

U get the populist appeal of Trump, but he will do and say anything in order to win, and say “screw you” once he wins. That is exactly what he has done in every business deal in which he has been involved; without exception.

Is there a single candidate that you couldn’t apply your comment to?

Past, or present.

Can you tell me about his trashing Justice Scalia? I read a lot but must have missed this. And I am not being sarcastic...I would like to know.

Trump loves Trump. What ever is second on the list needs a telescope to see it.

Cruz was born in Canada...to me this is a true trashing of our constitution. We can’t have divided loyalties and this sets up a precedent of horrific possibilities. You have to draw the line somewhere. It’s bad enough that Obama couldn’t adequately document his US birth.

For me - born on the soil of two citizen parents. Period. And from what I’ve read this is what Cruz used to claim as the description of a Natural Born Citizen.

We are a nation of laws not men. This is our test if we will apply the same requirements to our side and we expected from the other side.

Yes, that’s the whole problem.

Trump is every bad thing people say and easily the superior candidate in the race at the same time.

Cruz is a close second.

The rest suck much worse.

Over the course of 2,212 pages, I encountered a world where bragging is breathing and insulting is talking, where repetition and contradiction come standard, where vengefulness and insecurity erupt at random.
I can’t argue with that - I see it with my own eyes. But he has sold 30% or so that he is the GREATEST based on his insulting, contradictions and vengefulness.

Sorry. Even were that true about Trump, all that is somewhat overlooked by the majority of people who realize that other than a few saints on earth, all people and especially politicians are like that. Most are hypocritical about it however and that almost certainly includes all the current candidate and the POTUS and Congress.

What Trump has done to gain the support of all sorts of Americans first and strongly, is to articulate the destructive methods of the current ruling class.Trump has brought to the people’s consciousness the destruction done to the middle class and the country as a whole by excessive immigration, the unfair free trade and oligarchy and promised to stop it. ALL the other candidates have pussy footed around, acted against the people or lied about what they would do.

Make no mistake about it, the American, conservative, middle class wants a fighter, a patriot, a realist and a man with a heart for the people. Trump seems the only person able to turn the country around, his warts and all.

I never doubted his drive and wealth motivation. I just want to know if he will be a strong strict constitutionalist, appoint conservative justices and surround himself with constitution loving conservatives on his cabinet, flush the State Department, DOJ, and now Pentagon leftist /communists.

Will he do what is right or will he reach across the isle to work with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid?

Also, will he reign in spending and cut the size of the federal government? His life goals, project by project, were to grow an empire and he borrowed a lot of money to do that. I'm worried that his instincts, while fine for growing a business, will be the opposite of what is needed to downsize the government, cut spending, and get things under control.

Well, once again, you are wrong. Your opinion does not count. The laws of the United States and appellate court opinions are what count. Those laws and opinions confirm that Cruz is a natural born citizen.

Indeed and thanks for the historical perspective.

We are in for a quandary if Trump is elected.

IMHO, Trump isn't as interested in "making America great again" as he is in "closing his biggest deal", that of becoming President.

Another feather in his hat, so to speak.

Broad-brush hogwash. The only status quo is globalist Cruz, masquerading as a messiah. Trump has proven how he works with adversaries like Fox news. That is the art of the deal.

That’s a great list. Unfortunately, there’s as much of a chance of it happening as the promises delivered to Ivana when she married Trump

Conservative Trump supporters are like his first wife Ivana. The sex is great, he makes them feel happy inside. And it’s already too much cognitive dissonance to see that he’s already starting having an affair with Marla (the GOP and Dem elite). After he’s secured the GOP nomination, he’ll ditch Marla until he gets elected. At that point, he’ll move on to Malania, who is simply a symbol of his glorified self.

And that will be the hallmark of the Trump presidency. He will do whatever feeds his ego. If it’s his sister on the Supreme Court, doling out federal money to secure favors later on, using women as doormats, or making everything glamorous; it will all be in service of one thing and only one thing. Donald’s ego.

So you won’t mind if someone born in Syria for example with one citizen parent becomes the next POTUS?

The issue is not settled and won’t be until the Supreme Court rules on it.

I read his book also.

It's WHY I have always referred to him as "The MAN with a PLAN."

He KNOWS what he's doing and WHY he's doing it.

I firmly believe, if elected, he WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.

Trump is certainly closer to Washington than any man seeking the office in modern times. He is a private citizen who understands capitalism, job creation and the general struggles of the country. Washington and the founding fathers were all private citizens building a country, not individuals running around with their hands out trying to get elected. All we have come to see are bought and paid for politicians seeking a higher office. We lucked out with Reagan.

To suggest that the typical politician today understands what the intent of the country was... is, well, laughable.

“I just finished reading Art of the Deal.”

I read it in around ‘91. It must’ve impacted me deeply ‘cause I dreamed I was married to the guy for about three months after that. Very weird.

Make no mistake about it, the American, conservative, middle class wants a fighter, a patriot, a realist and a man with a heart for the people.

In the 1884 election, opponents of Grover Cleveland accused him of fathering an illegitimate child. The press was shocked when he did not deny it. "The American people do not want a gelding in the White House," he said.

The campaign was marred by exceptional political acrimony and personal invective. Cleveland won to become our 22nd President.

Well, congratulations on your original style... :-)

I see him as a results oriented person and due to his ego he wants to fulfill his promises to the country. He is putting his whole self on the line.

I’ve been in business all my life so I am naturally attracted to people who’ve had the drive and the guts to create something tangible.
