On January 18, Jerry Falwell, Jr. welcomed Donald Trump to Liberty University to speak in the school's chapel. I don’t know who the writer is (I’m Catholic and not knowledgeable about orthodox evangelical preachers) but he’s right on target.
Of course, Ann Coulter said that Trump could do abortions on the White House lawn and she wouldn’t care, and Trump himself says he could shoot somebody on 5th Ave and his fans wouldn’t care. So I think how we’ve seen the depths to which we have fallen.
Yes, the GOP is horrible. But it has, at least in theory, a program that is consistent if not well defended or implemented. Trump’s only program is Trump. But I guess that’s cool with his followers, and they’re super aggressive and have driven out any rational discussion

Trump supporters have cast an evil spell over Free Republic.
It was noticeable in the debate thread. All the Trump supporters were over watching Trump pretend to care about veterans and we had the room to ourselves. Even the debate had a lighter, happier atmosphere without the Toad in the room.
Then they came trickling back over bringing their fanatic, mindless and somewhat evil devotion with them.
He will bring down the country.
Strange that isn’t it? For many years now we have been saying that very same thing about the Democrats/liberals.
