There was no avoiding it, and Fox News Channel didn't really try: Megyn Kelly was the star of the show at Thursday's Republican presidential debate in Des Moines.
Kelly, of course, is a big reason that GOP front-runner Donald Trump refused to participate. Ever since their run-in at the first primary debate in August, Trump has maintained that Kelly is a "lightweight" who doesn't ask fair questions. (Never mind that he previously said she's a great moderator.) Unreasonable as Trump's critique might be, all eyes were on Kelly and her questions in Des Moines.

No she isn’t.
The debate are about the candidates not about the moderator.
NO ONE should even remember the moderator if they did their job right!
This is NOT an interview where you ask “tough questions” this is a debate BETWEEN the candidates, not a fight between the moderator and the candidates, or a gotcha opportunity for the moderator to try to destroy the candidate of their choosing.
No missing or additional vowels there.
Megyn even got a new hair style for the occasion too.
Of course Brit Hume doesn’t care, he only sees the top of her head anyway.
Oh, so now liberals love Faux News.
She’s the Center of the Universe
Trump wants to make a point. Who to use, for the point?
—Chris Wallace, or
—Megyn Kelly?
Who will the public be able to remember?
After all, she started it.
I don't care how smart she is. If she looked like Helen Thomas, she'd be nowhere near these debates.
Exactly. And every candidate should answer the same questions, not gotcha questions tailored to each one.
Agreed.
But there is no doubt about her bias.
Yup!..that's why we have debates...to make stars...../s
Agreed. I didn't watch last night's debate (because the last few debates have made me sick) but I did watch the first one in August and I do agree that the moderators inserted themselves too much into that debate.
Fantastic moderator?
No - Neil Cavuto and Maria Bartiromo were terrific. Why?
They didn’t interrupt, didn’t make the whole night about themselves, they blended in and allowed the candidates to present themselves.
Megyn, no... she’s a hog.
The new Fox News.

Sounds like what his mom told his little brother at meal time.
Go Callum to eat.
Haha, oh aren’t you right about that!
Why it's the Latin Second Declension neuter form of Callus!
Isn't that obvious? /s
I guess I'd better Scotch that.
Remember Martha Radditz and Candy Crowley. These debates are a farce.
If you believe that then I imagine your age is under 40.
Back many years ago there were true journalists with integrity. I am not sure there are any today.
Also, believe or not, there was a time the Networks News Divisions were run at a loss, that is they were never run as a profit center. The networks looked upon the news as a sacred obligation as condition of their licenses.
Only years after Watergate did the Networks decide that the news divisions needed to make money and as a result they have become more entertainment rather hard news. Watch the movie “Network”, it was ahead of it’s time and very prescient.
Thank you. The moderator (if any) should fade into the background. Trouble is, she's a TV News critter. Most of them are attention whores out to make a name for themselves. Honest reporting or sane commentary is barely on their RADAR screen.
