There was no avoiding it, and Fox News Channel didn't really try: Megyn Kelly was the star of the show at Thursday's Republican presidential debate in Des Moines.
Kelly, of course, is a big reason that GOP front-runner Donald Trump refused to participate. Ever since their run-in at the first primary debate in August, Trump has maintained that Kelly is a "lightweight" who doesn't ask fair questions. (Never mind that he previously said she's a great moderator.) Unreasonable as Trump's critique might be, all eyes were on Kelly and her questions in Des Moines.

She’s on the cover of Huff Po:

An NBC/CBS/ABC job won’t be far off. GOOD MORNING AMERICA?
Yes, indeed, the debate moderator exists to enforce the rules of the debate, that is it! Of course, what we call debates these days is anything but, and the GOP is ill-served by doing these dumbed-down whatever they are, with the so-called moderators assking dumb democrat gotcha questions. Why not a real debate, with the candidates debating their differences, and also why the “conservative” positions are so much better than “liberal” positions. No personal insults, no stupid phony issues such as “war on women” etc. All of these candidates could hold their own in a real debate, pair them off in teams according to their positions, and let them debate. Let the audience judge the issues and the individiuals.
Trump had it right. Kelly is a “lightweight”.
Its not just Kelly. Wallace and Baer are embarrassingly bad.
After the first train-wreck of a debate, RNC ought to have refused to allow Fox News to host any more debates, certainly they should have refused these three as moderators. It should not have been Trump alone, RNC as a whole should have refused.
As it was, the remaining candidates did as well as could be expected with what they had to work with, moderators who thought they were the stars of the debate, who thought the debate was between them and the candidates, rather than let the candidates debate each other on issues that the candidates themselves considered important. \
The moderators tried to arrange a circular firing squad, with mixed results. Some of them took the bait, some didn’t. The objects of the pummeling stood up pretty well, the moderators didn’t get the scalps they were hoping for. It was time stolen, really.
But Fox proved Trump right.
attention, slutty, looking, elitist , liberal whore more like.
There was a debate? Not according to any dictionary definition that I’m aware of.
Kelly set out to “get” DT. That is the wrong mindset. Instead of asking Trump his position on the wall or immigration or abortion she asked him why he called Rosie a fat pig so she could paint him as a misogynist. No thanks, she stinks.
I think she’s a bi@tch.
Well, she sure put the hurt on the Master Debater, and she not only didn’t go to Princeton and Harvard or win a debate awared - she’s a girl!
NO! ...They actively debate the candidates themselves in what I've called "Debate The Moderators".
She a ho.
Exactly.
ummm just simply NO. She is arrogant, self centered, and indeed is a bimbo who slept her way to the job she has now
These are bordering on becoming inquisitions not debates, but the Republicans are too chicken-s*** to call them out. Last night was the introduction of incriminating videos, and Youtube celebrates challenging candidates , and the RNC allowed it. What’s next lie detectors?
She a ho.
She’s a fantastic political assassin for Rupert Murdoch.
EveningStar picks up his pom poms and leads the cheers: Go feminists go!
Ditto. Debate moderators should be pulled from college debate teams or something. Nobodies as for as the world is concerned. The candidates should debate sound topics, with Generally, accepted rules of debate.
Moderators should NEVER be part of the debate. They’re there to “MODERATE”. <——— notice the period.
