Oregon protest leader Ammon Bundy and seven others were arrested Tuesday night. Protester LaVoy Finicum was killed in the confrontation with police and the FBI.

On Wednesday Cliven Bundy, father of Ammon Bundy, told reporters his son told him the FBI murdered militia spokesman LaVoy Finicum with his hands up.

What contradiction?
The truck IS in deep snow. But Lavoy exits the truck and walks 10 feet or so away from the truck into much shallower snow.
I don’t understand why you are arguing that. It isn’t a contradiction. It’s exactly what happens.

At one time I lived in Newfoundland, ... and eventually in Northern Minnesota, so I have experience with snow as well.
I promise that I was mocking the part about the RPGs; perhaps I’m not as good a writer as I believe.
I salute you for your defense of those who protect the innocent unborn. You might be the one lawyer I do not dislike. And you are right, Mr. Finicum will remain innocent; that may protect his family from some of the lawyers I do dislike.
As for shooting people. I would speculate that the biggest factor in Mr. Finicum being shot was his not standing still as presumably ordered. Cops are jumpy on a good day and after a three-week standoff, a high-speed chase and subsequent crash, all bets are off.
I’m a big fan of non-lethal weapons, particularly bean-bag shotgun rounds and, failing that, properly medicated “dedicated shooters.”
The other mistake Mr. Finicum might have made was believing that our Gov’t was still interested in following the Constitution.
Right. The snow at the front of the truck is up to the hood. The back of the truck is MAYBE up to the tires.
Lavoy walks towards the back of the truck where the snow is way shallower. I should have been more clear about that. It’s not worth arguing that I contradicted myself about that. I didn’t.
What I did do though is not indicate that the depth of the snow is different from where the truck ends up, and where Lavoy ends up.
I know Northern Minnesota gets some deep snow. Don't know about the Noofies. :)
I think there's a hangup about snow terminology.
People in the southern states think 4 inches of snow is "deep snow", especially if, HORRORS!!!, it sticks for any length of time.

Plus, I didn't see any LEOs within 15 feet before the shooting.
I assumed that there would be another guy on the other side in the trees as well.
The guys at the roadblock ambushed him. They were planning for him to get stuck on one of the sides. Whoever came out of that truck first was dead.
If Lavoy went for a weapon. Why would they continue firing on the truck after he was down? Because they waned to kill the people in the truck as well.
They knew they’d tried to get away because the officials had already shot at them at the first stop.
So why didn't they go ahead and kill them?
If you watch the video it looked you couldn’t see anymore snow kicked up or flashbangs after more agents and osp arrived.

Yes! When I was on the Grand Jury 20 years ago, the State’s Attorney would present a list of charges against i.e., an armed robber from actual armed robbery through “carry a handgun open or concealed without a license,” down to spitting on the sidewalk. This to give them some room to “plead down” the case so they could get a quick guilty plea. Of course this means you got a lot of guys going to jail for lesser charges and less time than they deserved.
Must have been the arriving group of guys that had already pinched the others.

The roadblock coonhounds that got Finicum got too excited.
If the snow is so deep that your vehicle is stuck.......that’s pretty deep snow.
The Founding Fathers never envisioned that sort of “justice” system.

So the story is that the LEOs at the roadblock were planning to massacre everyone but the pursuit agents weren't briefed in on the conspiracy so everyone hand to stand down.
