“...lowering your hands for no reason.”
I’m reminded of the the guy that was shot at the Costco in Nevada (Las Vegas?).
Witnesses there said one cop shouting “Hands up, hands up!” and another one yelling “Drop the weapon, Drop the weapon.” (It was in a holster) and another yelling “Get on the ground.”
So yeah - I could see Lavoy seeming to look around surprised and trying to figure out what to do. If it was me and I wanted to get a drop on the cops I wouldn’t have my weapon tucked inside a layer or two of clothing and having to fumble for it.
Of course if it was me - I probably would have crapped my pants looking in the rear view mirror with all the rifles pointing at my back and gotten out of the truck then. I was surprised at how much time passed while they sat there after the first stop.
I wonder what made them think that they would have safe passage to their meeting? I wonder if someone had promised them safe passage?
“Hey - they stopped us. I thought Mr. Jones said we would have safe passage to get to the meeting? Isn’t he in control of all these guys? I think we should just go - those cops are just bluffing. We have safe passage. What do you think? See if you can get Jones on the cell - oh no recpetion? Hey, if they really wanted to stop us they’d be shooting by now. I say we keep going....”
Obviously my views and imagination are biased.
Yep, that’s what I believe. He’d already taken a hit, then the other LEO landed the kill shot from his left rear.
In Illinois, the Democrats pay Democrats good money to be "Republicans".
I imagine there's a few people that get paid good money to be resident on a website that's kicked the Uniparty in the teeth more than once...
Finally outed himself after all these years.
You got sloppy, Moonie.
They do the same with DUI stops, which are also unconstitutional.
...
Which Supreme Court decision was that?
I lived in Summerlin near that Costco at the time. Still haunts me the injustice that West Point graduate suffered at the hands of a lying, hysterical lib who phoned in a phony alarm.
But in this case I think he was reaching.
I kinda detected that sometime back...lol
Anyway from the video, it don’t look good. If he was shot from two different weapons, it’s going to look double bad, because if the LEO from the road side shot him first, it would have been when his hands were up. He grabs the wound on his torso, the LEO from the woods side sees him drop his arm, thinking he going for a weapon and fires the kill shot.
I could be wrong, but it sure appears that way.
I don’t care what the politicized Supreme Court says regarding this. I believe stopping people in random checkpoints are wrong and unconstitutional.
Get it?
I can’t comment definitively on your opinion that you “don’t think it would be a blind curve at legal speed”, but will bite on the “Whose fault is that?” challenge.
1) Speeding away from a police car and crossing a double line repeatedly are the responsibilty of the driver, Mr. Finicum. But not a capital offense in most jurisdictions, I presume. (Might also be quite rational if he had reason to believe he had been shot at, as another person in the vehicle has claimed, and as *might* be evident by the light flashes that occurred immediately before he “took off” from the previous stop).
2) Being unable to stop for cars parked in the middle of the road around a curve is more a matter of physics than fault. That he DID manage to avoid hitting them by driving to the side is understandable, and even admirable, I would say.
3) Jumping into the path of an oncoming vehicle (and pointing a weapon at it in a shooter’s crouch, I believe) was the choice of the LEO who did it.
4) Immediately climbing out of the vehicle with his hands up was definitely his fault, though — you’re right about that.
My first inclination was he was being dodgy. Like balking a draw two or three times, his hand definitely went to his left inner pocket before he hit the ground.
I would have to watch and watch and watch again to come up with anything other than that, if there is anything other than that.
Agree, however in this case if the Truck had been taking rounds he could have jumped out with his hands up to show them he was clearly giving up. I think he bailed out of the truck that fast because it had already been shot at. I could be wrong, but I bet that truck has holes in it.

You can hear what's going on from 25feet Boy.
If they cough up 25feet Boy's audio/video QUICKLY, then they can salvage the situation.
Otherwise, they're doctoring the audio, and we can fill in the damning blanks ourselves.
I'd almost say it's too late now.
Thanks
Unless he'd been shot.
Which we could tell from the audio that the Feds refuse to release (Videoguy sitting 25 feet from the action).
Or he'd been shot...
Looking again, it appears the windshield has at least one round through it, and after he was shot, they continued firing on the truck on the passenger side. You can see the glass shattering.
It will be most interesting to see if the truck occupants ever fired a single shot. I’d bet they didn’t.
The FBI murdered the guy in cold blood. He came out with his hands up. If he had intended anything else he would have come out firing. They advanced and shot before he went for anything.
Nobody is going to do anything. Those agents and whoever issued orders are never going to be punished for this, in 5 years the land will be sold and Russians will be mining uranium from it.
You bet, I tend to agree. In addition, they were firing on the truck before he ever exited the truck. And that would explain why he exited the truck so fast with his hands up.
Looking close, they were firing on others in the truck too, passenger side and front windshield clearly appeared to be taking rounds. You can see glass shattering.
