Iâm not really sure what will happen tonight. I truly hope that Donald Trump will keep his word and follow through on his decision to not attend the debate and hold a separate forum in Des Moines, but who knows. For now, C-Span says they will cover it.
Sometimes itâs best to walk away from a bad deal and not look back. Itâs another opportunity for Trump to âteach us.â I guess weâll see. Hopefully we wonât get whipsawed all day long and that the Des Moines rally is on and FR people here will participate.
It seems pretty clear to me that Trump was tipped off about an unformatted ambush with other activist questioners, (who may not even be Americans), with their own agendas. Did they intend to pull a Jorge Ramos on him to disruptâmaybe to get him to walk off the stage or say something regrettable?
Whose idea was it in the first place to have these people ask questions? This is the kind of maneuver weâd expect from a more left wing station, not Fox, but weâve sure learned something this past year, havenât we about this network, and the people weâve allowed in our homes day in and day out?
And who wrote that chicken bleep press release that mocked Trump with references to our enemies? Was it Ailes himself? I sense the good people like Jeanine Pirro and Brett Bair are pretty embarrassed this morning. They should all be.
The Fox network intent, as I see it, is more ominous and thinly cloaked and perhaps about other things. Megyn Kellyâs objective was to make her the center of attention over the candidates and her colleagues, but already Rupert Murdoch voices his desire to have Michael Bloomberg enter the race, and weâre hearing of some backdoor dealings of his, and Fox, that favors illegal immigration. I guess we will see what is fact and what is fiction eventually.
Make no mistake, immigration, legal and illegal over the past 25 years, has altered the cultural and political trajectory of our country. Who can say if this is good or bad? It really depends on who you are. I worry that ultimately it will affect our freedoms.
Ted Kennedy and other passive politicians from both sides, and presidents have got the politics wrong about immigration. It used to be that immigrants coming here from wherever, and their offspring proudly said they were âAmericansâ first. Now, Iâm not so sure.
Was that the political intent? To ultimately change the complexion of our nation and endanger our freedoms by pitting us against one another, and to have people coming here not to assimilate with us, but to defy us?
This will all pass, just like it did in 1980 when Ronald Reagan chose not to debate George Bush before the Iowa caucus, and maybe, before it does, it will turn the Iowa caucus on its ear with a surprise winner. I think all of us have seen through the rallies that Iowans are a special brand of people.
Those Iowans, that âusually get out and voteâ, are a microcosm of the people we used to be, before John Kennedy was killed. They usually vote in the end for âthe person who appears to have the best heart.â I think itâs Trump, they might think itâs Carson. I only hope that they do not take his refusal to debate as a personal affront to them.
All of our candidates are true patriots. Any one of them could lead our country better than the people who have led us these past eight, maybe 24 years. Whomever wins the nomination should have our support.
I pray that God gives each of these people the wisdom to do what is best for the people of our country. Can Fox say that the organization and spirit of their debate had that same intent? I truly doubt it.
Yup! HUck got a standing-O
The thing is none of them COULD do this.
I’m voting for Trump because he’s a capable leader and he can *actually* help our nation!
But VERY high marks for Huck and Rick! This proves that they love our nation more than they love themselves. Fantastic gentlemen.
Yes, he does.
Nice job by Rick and Huck
This is politics as a high art. We all need to remember what we're watching.
I posted that, as has others reposted, many times. But that one is a distant 2nd (view wise) to one that I posted only 2 or 3 times, while nobody but me posted it. I get the message.
Great story by Huckabee! Huckabee for Press Secretary!
Fantastic remarks by Santorum and Huck.
Exactly!
Omg, that is right, Huck won Iowa once too. Both of them Iowa caucus winners!
THIS IS A PR GRAND SLAM ... CAN’T WAIT FOR HE NEXT POLL DATA
Greats story from Gov Huck about the school desks
I was not planning on crying on our happy Trump rally thread.
i think huck and santourm would make great cabinetg members
Huck telling story of Ms. Cochran and no desks in classroomâ2005
MArtha Cochran-had 27 vets walked in carrying a desk, says you donât have to earn your desks, because these guys already did.
Public unions protect those sorry VA management pukes- I despise them, and their public union organisations... just so you know- I get a pension through a private trade union fund that I earned over 20 years of work.
That’s a good gig for Huckabee, but not sure if he would view it as a step down. He’s been much quicker this round and funny. Presents himself well.
Usually Press Secretary is younger.
Huck’s story brought a tear to my eyes. Great tribute to the vets.
“Gotta wonder the effect of having TWO former Iowa Caucus winners showing up for Trump.”
I didn’t even think about that. O.O
And Teddy boy Cruz gave LESS than 1% of his earnings, to charity last year! How Texan and "Christian" of him and what "values" !
It’s fricken genius, he’s got Santorum and Huchabee campaigning for him. Unbelievable.
