As news spread of Donald Trump's intention to boycott the Republican debate this Thursday, Ted Cruz's national press secretary tweeted out that the Texas senator wished to challenge the GOP frontrunner to a "mano a mano."
Cruz made the remarks to Mark Levin on his radio show Tuesday night. "If Donald is afraid of Megyn Kelly," Cruz said, "I would like to invite him... to participate in a one-on-one debate, between me and Donald, mano a mano."

Cruz floated Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh as possible moderators -- but he also said he'd be willing to take him on with no moderator at all, should Trump prove to be afraid of all those people too.
He pondered how Trump could be commander-in-chief if he was "terrified of a TV host."

He bloviates in these debates. That is why he has a hard time getting much out of them.
He isn’t quick and pointed. He has slow delivery.
Well he does seem to really like MSNBC.
It is almost hard to say with the silly mod and bias moderator pony shows.
He did have the greatest moment when he took apart the moderators at that debate by going down each candidate and saying repeating the obnoxious left-wing attacks the mods were doing.
One that stands out, “Trump, are you a circus clown?” or something like that.
And yet he stil has bigger balls than Trump. He’s not scared of the girl.
Cruz wiped the floor with Marco "Speedy Gonzalez" Rubio and his programmed, stilted, hyperactive, robotic delivery.
Trump Landslide in Iowa
You can damn well rest assured that he's going to advocate for his own interests unlike Ted 'Bill Clinton is off limits' Cruz.
You people are not only advocating for outright wussery, but you're calling it 'tough'. Pathetic.
-— . I thought Cruz would win Iowa anyway but if Trump really doesn’t show up, he has no chance -—
That’s why he’ll kiss and make up with Ailles. Apparently Trump’s campaign manager takes Trump at his word, which would be funny if true.
I have to admit, your post made me laugh out loud. Trump the voice of ‘true conservatives’? How can someone who has never been a conservative be the voice of true conservatives? I won’t argue the point that he’s a nationalist and even a patriot, but a conservative?
Maybe that’s what he ‘intended’ to do, but it didn’t really work out that way in the real world.
It wasn’t name calling , but it was very disrespectful and not classy at all .. it made a lot of people cringe and worked to Trump’s benefit .. Cruz looked very disrespectful when he did that
Cruz is anything but. He’s tough-as-nails, rock-ribbed and has stood up against Obama and his own party, knowing how much more difficult that would make his life and has run for the presidency.
Cruz realized this move out flanked him, so heâs trying to âout toughâ Trump by running to Levin.
Trump takes on the Press. Ted says âlook at me tooâ!
Trump ran away and is hiding. Should we send him a tube of vagisil and a bottle of pamprin?
According to his Twitter feed, Trump will be busy hosting a benefit for Wounded Warriors instead.
That from the same guy who criticized Cruz for calling McConnell a liar, which he is...
You’re a pathetic, star struck fanboi.
You mean the landslide that Trump gets buried under? LOL
Please do ... waste your money .. I think your boy Teddy needs the money more at this point
You are exactly right ...Cruz rode Trumpâs coattails all the way up , even adopting some of Trumpâs positions ! ..the ride is over
Which of Trump’s positions, his liberal ones or his pseudo-conservative ones?
Trumps positions depend on what ever is most advantageous. Don’t worry about Trump’s positions. They’ll change again when something different benefits him.
