As news spread of Donald Trump's intention to boycott the Republican debate this Thursday, Ted Cruz's national press secretary tweeted out that the Texas senator wished to challenge the GOP frontrunner to a "mano a mano."
Cruz made the remarks to Mark Levin on his radio show Tuesday night. "If Donald is afraid of Megyn Kelly," Cruz said, "I would like to invite him... to participate in a one-on-one debate, between me and Donald, mano a mano."

Cruz floated Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh as possible moderators -- but he also said he'd be willing to take him on with no moderator at all, should Trump prove to be afraid of all those people too.
He pondered how Trump could be commander-in-chief if he was "terrified of a TV host."

The reality is setting in that Trump is a bellowing gas bag and is afraid of a girl.
This move doesn’t make Trump look presidential. It’s easy to see who Trump fears because he focuses solely on that person.
Trump had to know all this afraid-of-the-slut talk would sprout like mushrooms after a rain.
There is something else going on here. Something big. A Weekend Surprise.
Against RNC rules. Other candidates would expect equal time.
There is something about Cruz that makes my skin crawl ...
Trump could hold his own debate at the same time as Fox’s and invite all the other candidates.
What would the Trump supporters say if it were Cruz who was too scared to face a member of the press?
Trump is leading - no reason to give Cruz the coverage.
