The charges against anti-Planned Parenthood filmmaker, explained

Initially, the grand jury set out to investigate Planned Parenthood. But on Monday, it instead returned charges against Daleiden. Harris County prosecutors declined to explain the charges. But Josh Schaffer, a lawyer for Planned Parenthood in Houston, says this is what it all means:

***

The fake IDs used by Daleiden and Merritt, which look like California licenses, triggered the felony charge, Schaffer said.

The IDs appeared in Harris County court documents. Daleiden went by Robert Sarkis.

***

“They presented those to security at the Planned Parenthood office to gain access to the facility for the meeting they’d scheduled with the intent to defraud or harm Planned Parenthood,” he said. “They secretly videotaped meetings and edited the tapes to be taken out of context.”

Intent to cause harm is what elevated the possession of fake IDs to a more serious felony charge than, say, a 16-year-old trying to buy a six-pack would receive, Schaffer said. Under Texas law, the charge carries a penalty of two to 20 years in prison.

This was just investigative journalism. There is no earthly way these people should have charges against them.

Is Cruz interested in helping out, I wonder, if he still has a Texas license to practice?

Texas governor Greg Abbott should immediately pardon them.

He should if they’re convicted. But I’d like to see somebody good defend them and prevail.

So these would then be the only people ever charged with this crime then right?

This might be an explanation - It just came across James O'Keefe's Twitter feed.

Looks like the prosecutor may be a boardmember of Planned Parenthood.

Corruption and conflict of interest in the Harris County prosecutor's office?

No, Abbott shouldn’t.

As defendents, the accused have the right of discovery. So taking this to trial is desirable. I’d imagine the amount of material they can compel PP to provide under subpoena is impressive.

If there’s a conviction, thats when Abbott can pardon.

In this case it is “intent to cause harm to major Democratic Party donor.” Hence the possible 20-year prison terms.

A quick read of the indictment is instructive. It doesn’t argue that the abortion/baby parts selling corporation didn’t do these despicable things ... just that the IDs used by the people who exposed the abortion/baby parts selling corporation for doing these despicable things were faked!

If this is about fake IDs and they use state law, it’s built strictly around usage for buying booze for underage situations or cashing fake/bogus checks in someone else’s name. These are misdemeanors as far as I can see. The fake check deal could get you a couple of months in the county jail. But using a fake ID to get yourself into a company? That wasn’t really a concern when they wrote this law. A lot of this effort will depend on having a slanted judge who can take the law and reshape it.

This conviction (if it occurs) will simply go to some appeals court and get thrown out. You have to wonder what the Grand Jury was told, and if the fake ID law was fully explained.

I think I’d prepare a case for the prosecutors law license and go after it once this has been put to rest and innocence declared.

We should all be praying for Daleiden and Merritt.

Ask God to bind and rebuke (Moloch) that evil spirit that is really at work behind this cult of child sacrifice, these two brave filmmakers have committed a great offense against it by pulling back the veil back and allowing us to see its human face,

This is what spiritual warfare looks like in the flesh,
