AUSTIN, Texas –  A Houston grand jury investigating undercover footage of Planned Parenthood found no wrongdoing Monday by the abortion provider but instead indicted anti-abortion activists involved in making the videos that provoked outrage among Republican leaders nationwide.
David Daleiden, founder of the Center for Medical Progress, was indicted on a felony charge of tampering with a governmental record and a misdemeanor count related to purchasing human organs. Another activist, Sandra Merritt, was also indicted on a charge of tampering with a governmental record.

If they were indicted for attempting to purchase or sell human organs, doesn't that indicate that the babies involved are humans?

I watched those videos, and saw PP officials HAGGLING OVER THE PRICE OF THE ORGANS OF BABIES.
That was why Cecile Richards came out with an apology at first.
But the PP Dem narrative has gone from the videos were EDITED, to SELECTIVELY EDITED, to DECEPTIVELY EDITED, to “THE HOAX VIDEOS.”
They broke the law left and right, but like too many people, including the Clintons, they are simply ABOVE THE LAW!
They must donate LOTS OF MONEY TO too many lawmakers and candidates! It’s simply political corruption.
As to what might the “criminal” thing done by CMP, said to be “tampering with a government record,” or something,

I can’t say for sure, but the Texas video may be one in which they shut off the camera when the undercover investigators were alone, and then suddenly the video starts back up in the middle of them talking to the PP officials. It seems like they maybe didn’t realize they didn’t have the camera back on, or forgot to turn it back on. Either way, it seems like a jump there.

“The Center for Medical Progress uses the same undercover techniques that investigative journalists have used for decades in exercising our First Amendment rights to freedom of speech and of the press, and follows all applicable laws,” Daleiden said in a statement in response to the indictment.
“We respect the processes of the Harris County District Attorney, and note that buying fetal tissue requires a seller as well. Planned Parenthood still cannot deny the admissions from their leadership about fetal organ sales captured on video for all the world to see,” the statement continued.

Sounds like the DA would benefit from a visit by Preston Brooks.
Appears a logical solution if not one of the few alternatives. After several such visits, hearts and minds would embrace a more common sense application of the law.

That comparison, the analysis said, showed “substantive omissions” in the group’s version. Mr. Simpson was assisted in the analysis by several others, including a video forensics expert, Grant Fredericks, and a television producer, Scott Goldie.
According to the investigation, the reviewers could not determine “the extent to which C.M.P.’s undisclosed edits and cuts distort the meaning of the encounters the videos purport to document.”
But, it said, “the manipulation of the videos does mean they have no evidentiary value in a legal context and cannot be relied upon for any official inquiries” unless C.M.P. provides investigators with its original material, and that material is independently authenticated as unaltered.
For example, Mr. Fredericks said recordings in Houston and Denver were each missing about 30 minutes of video, judging from time stamps and frame counters on the recordings.
The analysis also supported Planned Parenthood’s objection to two allegations that have elicited some of the most outrage from anti-abortion forces, disputing that Planned Parenthood staffers at one point say of fetal remains, “It’s a baby,” and in a second instance, “Another boy.”
Mr. Daleiden, in a statement posted on the Center for Medical Progress’s website, said, “Planned Parenthood’s desperate, 11th-hour attempt to pay their hand-picked ‘experts’ to distract from the crimes documented on video is a complete failure.”
He added, “The absence of bathroom breaks and waiting periods between meetings does not change the hours of dialogue with top-level Planned Parenthood executives eager to manipulate abortion procedures to get high-quality baby parts for financially profitable sale.”

These appear to be minor process crimes at best. I doubt these will stick.
But more damaging for the left, they have now dragged this story back in public view. The videos are all over the place and people will be watching them again. They will see PP employees bragging and laughing about selling body parts and will look at the trial charges and see the disconnect.
Why did they choose Houston? Other than it being a liberal hell hole, the reason is clear. Houston has a large black population. I bet most of the jurors were black women. WHO is the biggest user of PP services?? Thats how they got the indictments.

The progressives I know are convinced that the videos are completely faked, so it does not matter what’s actually in them. At first they were unethically edited, now the story is that they were faked 100%.
Let’s see what’s in the indictment. I bet it’s written in a manner that will preclude meaningful discovery from PP.
I doubt those progressives would care even if they knew the videos were true(Which they are) they love baby murder, they celebrate it every single day..They go on and on about how PP is about “Women’s Health” show me ONE woman who goes to PP to get a breast exam, doesn’t happen, in fact PP doesn’t even offer mammograms. I asked my doctor once(I belong to Kaiser) do they send any women to PP, and he said yes, only for abortions, PP doesn’t offer anything except abortion but of course leftists love pretending they offer more than that
