Natalie Maines infamously spoke her mind about war and then-President George W. Bush back in 2003, when she told a London crowd that she was âashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.â Now, the Dixie Chicks member is bringing that comment back to mind and voicing her opinion on Republican presidential candidate (and fellow Texan) Ted Cruz.

They are doing a new tour, I learned at a classic country music forum, and I suppose she wants to go back and rewrite history, since she didn’t do so well the first time she ran her fat mouth. But she probably knows that along with “country” music, the “country music audience” today is a different animal, and this new one will probably support her this time.
This is another instance of the left’s mopping up of any formerly recognised conservative entities, in this case the country music industry (it may not have been “truly” conservative back in the day, but it was generally recognised as more family-friendly and patriotic back then than other genres, and certainly more than it is now since the left sneaked through the back door with Americana, red dirt, etc, and “bro-country” and “country rap”, and through the front door with the taking up of things like the rainbow gestapo cause in mainstream country music).
Plus just watering down a more rural sound, less sophisticated sound (in general, or stereotypically) with “country pop” killing off the sound of country music.
Oh, shut up.
Best Cruz endorsement yet
Lipton Foods Apologizes for Sponsoring the Dixie Chicks: Why the Boycott Worked (comment 80)
One of FR's finest hours:
Dixie Chicks Boycott Coordination thread
It’s a new day. Last go round, they were run out of country music by the remaining traditional-minded and -eared audience.
“country” music has a new audience (one that has no ear for real country music), and new politics to go with the (forced) “evolution” of country. Thos time, everybody knows who The Dixie Tricks are, nonetheless, they have sold out their new tour.
I hate it, but then I quit listening to “country” radio decades ago, and listen to classic country, except dor a very few new acts whose sound, lyrics, and lifestyle (at least publicly, to my knowledge) more or less line up with my traditional style preferences.
who are the dixie chicks
The Dixie Chicks are so yesterday.
MamaB, you must be from the south!
Shut up and sing, trained monkey.
Naimes is the short, stocky one, right? Had a severe “butch” haircut for a while right? If so, d*mn she’s got hit by the ugly bus... then made it worse.
Natalie is a piker compared to many of the many ‘Trumpeters’ here on FR.
I was born in a small MS town and have lived here in AL since 1966. I am into genealogy and most of my ancestors arrived here in the USA in southern state—VA, NC, MD, etc. Two families came over on the Mayflower. One was Indian so maybe they were there to meet the new people. Who knows? Is a nice thought, anyway. All of these make me the person I am today.
“Trump warned Bush...”
Unfortunately, another lie from Mr. Windsock.
She’s just a CW parrot whose attitude gets awfully tiring around here. Vitriol for something 24/7. Ignore her.
I heard they were going to stage a comeback. Looks like it’s not gonna fly because Maines hasn’t learned her lesson.
STFU you DC.
The angry toad.
What’s her FReeper handle?
