A vote for Donald Trump is a vote against Hay-sooos.

The GOP is not incompetent. They are collaborators and very clever ones. They make deals with the commiecrats and then pay lip service to being conservatives. There are plenty of fools who believe them.

There is only one candidate I see this time around with rabid, uncritical, obsequious cultist supporters.

That candidate is not Trump.

I should add, on the Republican side. Democrats specialize in mob sanctification, and Sanders and Clinton fit that pattern.

He got this characterization of the GOPe traitors right: “incoherent platitude-infused puffs of gibberish...snobby, monocle-wearing, America-hating elite...”

I will probably get flamed by both sides, but the real reason for Trump’s success is that we have entered the age of the celebrity president. It started with Clinton. He was considered to be the cool guy (not to me, but there is no accounting for taste). So, it doesn’t matter what Trump says, he is popular and will probably win.

The other thing the anti-Trump people don’t understand is voters have reached a point where it doesn’t matter what any candidate says, because we know either they don’t mean what they say and/or it is impossible for them to fulfill their campaign promises anyway.

Every election is the same thing, the same promises. They all say they’re going to make America strong, educate all the kids, lift people out of poverty, protect retirement, produce jobs and prosperity, secure the border, defeat all our enemies, and on and on and on. It’s all BS! The only thing government can do is get out of the way of the economy and protect America’s real threats, and that is not what Americans want to hear.

Many people are now at the point where they think they might as well vote for a cool guy like Trump, who is entertaining and says things people like, as for any of the others. The rest will vote for Trump because they know who he is. He will be the next celebrity president. Who knows after that... maybe a Kardashian.

NR included Glenn Beck’s full-blown “Trump is Hitler” piece, and several others written by PO’d neocons who hate Trump because he doesn’t have to come to their trough, and beg for money.

What the author nails is that if you try to raise Trump's substantive positions on issues like entitlements, health care, or subsidies, or to point out his own "yuge" flip-flip on immigration, you generally get nothing other than insults in return. Few of his supporters seem willing to engage on those issues at all.

There isn't a perfect alternative to Trump, but it has gotten to the pint where you can't have even a remotely civil discussion. It's just zealotry at this point.

Me? I'm just going to continue to support the greatest tool of liberty and decency in American political life: gridlock.

Gridlock worked in the Clinton era because the country had not yet been wrecked and could keep going on momentum. That doesn't apply now.

Blather is never a solution to incompetence.

It may obscure it, but it’s not a solution.
