Dear Northeast Freepers:
Please check-in to let us know that you're safe. If you want to share your blizzard experiences- whether funny or scary - we're listening. If you need something, please say so. Maybe we can help or get word to someone who can.
~Signed, Your Friends at Free Republic.
snow falling quite well here in JC, NJ no wind yet. at almost 6am.
With all the wind it’s Hard to figure out exactly which flakes are actually “my” snow.
Guess I’ll wait until tomorrow to shovel.
We are fine so far. We are right in the middle of it, southern new jersey. Nothing is moving on our street, I believe it’s impassable. Thankfully we still have power, although it’s going to be a long day. Our blizzard warning still has another 24 hours or so to go, until 10am tomorrow morning.
We’re in Franklinville, NJ, in Gloucester County near Atlantic County (South Jersey). We have about 8 in so far, with heavy wind. Forecast says all day like this.
Southern MD (Calvert), couple hundred yards off the bay, mix of rain, sleet, snow midnight to 4am. Back to snowing now, winds not really bad yet. Approximately 10 inches on the ground.
Why ask when you can watch it, live?

The Savage Mountain crew is hard at it.
1-81/I-70 interchange looks untouched but a couple of SUV drivers were seen plodding along bravely/foolishly.
For myself, I put on boots, snugged down my fuzzy bathrobe, went out and knocked the snow off my DirecTV dish and the Leyland Cypress.
If I could get out of my lane, I would love to be out this.
I dig that crazy post-apocalyptic, last ‘Mander on earth vibe.
The dogs, not knowing any better and having no shoveling responsibilities, think all of this is a freaking blast.
;D
Southeast PA: lot of snow being driven by the wind everywhere. I’m going to need to open my front door and shovel at least around there, in order to keep my outer storm door able to open.
One positive aspect of the wind is that it’s keeping snow off the tree branches and utility wires.
My SIL and daughter are at McGuire. She’s a pharmacist, and they don’t close down. Sucks she has to work today.
I brought my computer home and parked my Scion xB at the bottom of the driveway. I’m working from home.
We’re seriously enjoying the snow.
LOL
When it's this windy, there's no point to shoveling. The wind will blow snow to cover your work within a short time.
Hi Everyone! Biggirl from Greater Hartford CT, the one who posts the major conservative talkradio show hosts threads. Not in the blizzard area but will still be getting snow. Be SAFE northeastern FRpers and God Bless!
0617 at exit 3 route 84 in New York, light snow.
Steady wind speed but changes direction.
Nothing really accumulated here yet.
And surprise surprise, the road crews were actually out salting BEFORE the snow got bad.
(This is 180° out from previous observed activity from the road crews. They usually wait. Seemingly until the first few accidents get reported.)
Made that mistake a few years back. Lesson learned the hard way, I suppose.
35 mile long cars stuck in snow Kentucky
In South Jersey (Egg Harbor Township). My guess is around 5” and growing.
Shoveled the deck and stairs so dogs could go out. Will do driveway and sidewalk after the sun comes up.
Stay safe and warm.
Roads are not even plowed yet around here. Good luck to her!
In Pittsburgh metro area - they said 1-3 inches, now 4-8 inches. Will not be allowed to leave house as live with mentally ill, nervous mother (not a joke).
Prank your friends time: dress up like a zombie and wander through the snow past their windows...
