As Donald Trump called many illegal Mexican immigrants "rapists and criminals" and questioned Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) war hero status and suggested temporarily banning Muslim immigrants -- all while climbing to or remaining at the top of the Republican presidential polls -- we in the political media scratched our heads and wondered how this could happen.

Meet Maine Gov. Paul LePage, the Donald Trump before there was Donald Trump.
If you haven't heard of him -- or hadn't heard of him until he recently said drug dealer with names like "D-Money" were coming to Maine and impregnating "young, white girl[s]" -- you're not alone.

He said the NAACP "can kiss my butt." He angered labor groups by removing murals in government offices depicting labor's history. He called state workers "corrupt."

He endorsed fellow handsome fat man Chris Christie.

Maybe a bit too bombastic for a Trump administration. Trump already does that.
I still think the VP for Trump will be someone like Newt Gingrich or Jeff Sessions.
Either one of those give a balance to Trump in that they both have a good grasp of Constitutional issues
As a final middle finger to D.C., Trump selects Deez Nuts as his VP.
Christie backed LePage 100% when Christie was head of Republican Governors Assoc. LePage is repaying that courtesy with a loyal endorsement. LePage is an odd duck with a unique and compelling personal story. I find him very attractive, in a manly way, but he will never be a darling of the 'beautiful people'.
LePage is an excellent Gov for Maine.
I wish we had someone like him her in NH.
The commies in Maine are trying to bring articles of Impeachment against him now on a bunch of trumped up charges which won’t work.
I posted such a notion within the last month when asked for a list of potential non-RINO VP candidates.
