In 2013, the tea party rallied to Matt Bevin against Donald Trump. RedState and tea party groups around the country swung into action in an ultimately unsuccessful bid to get Matt Bevin through the primary against Mitch McConnell. We were completely out-funded by establishment interests and Washington lobbyists.
It turns out, one of those establishment interests was Donald J. Trump.
In 2013, Donald Trump gave $220,000.00 to organizations, many of them dedicated to stamping out the Tea Party. From Karl Rove’s American Crossroads to Mitch McConnell’s Super PAC, Trump spread out money. Rove got $50,000.00 and McConnell got $60,000.00. Trump also wrote a check to McConnell’s campaign directly for $5,200.00.
What’s more, Trump also gave $100,000.00 to the Congressional Leadership Fund, a Republican Establishment PAC that was created to crush conservatives at the behest of John Boehner.
Running as an anti-establishment Republican now and courting Sarah Palin is a distraction from two stark facts.
It is seriously disingenuous to think Trump is somehow now against the very candidates and organizations he funded just two years ago — candidates and politicians he is already again starting to say nice things about.
Are you saying this to support the guy who keeps begging for more contributions from us little folk?
Telling us to “GET OVER IT” won’t make the fact go away that Trump did these things.
You remind me of Frank Grimes.
When Erick Erickson speaks, people listen. Erick will save the day.
Well at least Trump didn’t vote for the Corker Bill.
GET OVER IT !!! Trump was generous to pols across the spectrum. He never tried to hide his donations and the reasons for them.
Are you saying this to support the guy who keeps begging for more contributions from us little folk?

Exactly, Trump acted as a businessman...he has never hided the fact.
This article is posted by every paid cruzer 20 times. Ask Cruz campaign to provide new anti-Trump articles.
Tell them pay more.
As this thread is about campaign contributions, did Cruz or Trump give money to Corker? I don’t think so.
The article points out that Trump gave money to McConnell, Rove, etc...
Changing the subject to Corker doesn’t have anything to do with this article.
BTW, weren’t you guys on another thread saying it is okay to get along with Congress now?
So, Cruz voted for Corker is bad?
You like to have things both ways?
And the GOP we elected propped up Bonehead.
Trump had no vote on Bonehead being speaker.
The fake conservatives we keep electing are the ones who propped
him up. And who are propping up Ryan too.
The responses posted already just reiterated my belief that the Trump sheep are no different than the 0bama sheep of 08. No matter how many facts you hit them with the shows their man is a fraud and is totally playing them, the defend him and keep on blindly following him.
I’m not fooled and I will NEVER cast a vote for. I will pass on the general if he is nomintaed.
Businessman deal maker Trump also owns Goldman Sachs stock

Just how heavily invested is he in Ethanol ?
Isn’t that interesting.
Glad he supported the John Bolton Super Pac to restore a strong America.
Then say I told you so already, and leave FR. Enjoy the BERN.
erick... let us know when you are going to give this up!!! NOTHING you report is going to sway enough to stop this citizen rebellion and the march on washington that we didn’t even have to physically march.
This is the rebellion against you media.. the congress.. and the lame president you thought was an ok guy.. you are more against Trump than you ever were against obama. This is the rebellion that was a long time coming.. but it came, didn’t it!
And Cruz knuckled under McConnell to work for him against the Tea Party. He wouldn’t campaign for one TP candidate during that time. Have you earned your pay yet today, or are there many more articles to come? Who pays you? Conservative Review? I think so.
“So, Cruz voted for Corker is bad?”
You tell me, he’s you’re candidate.
I wouldn’t have voted for it, but then again I’m not a “true conservative”.
I hear erick on the radio when I’m driving home... at least as long as I can stand him.. he comes on and I don’t take the time to hunt for something else while driving.
He is the one who stood up for the muslim and their mosques being built all around the country.. and in Atlanta area. He spent at least half an hour saying they have as much right to their mosques as we do our churches .... I did turn him off that time. His argument held no water on that.. but it proved he’s a talker.. no sense, but he does like to talk.
