Beck: Trump's Use of Nationalism, Populism 'Dangerous Combination,' 'Makings of Adolf Hitler'
Breitbart ^

Posted on 01/22/2016 10:46:43 AM PST by springwater13

"That's why you should be freaking out," he added. "Look, we have nothing against Donald Trump as a man. We don't. It's just this is a very dangerous combination and I have been warning against it since Fox. I said keep your eyes open because it will come. The pendulum will swing the other way and it will be bad. The only other thing you have to add to that - he's talking about populism and nationalism. If you add socialism - populism, nationalism and socialism, you have the makings of Adolf Hitler. You don't somebody who is a nationalist, a populist and has any kind of socialist or nationalizing the banks kind of ideas. Not a good idea, not a good idea."

Beck’s an imbecilic grandstanding moron.

If he had any shred of understanding, Nationalism in the hands of a Leftist/Socialist using Populism is what produced Hitler. Trump does not meet that criteria.

Idiot.

Cruz would be stupid to publicly accept a Beck endorsement.

I find Hitler comparisons generally over the top. As a Californian, I do see some comparisons between Donald and Arnold.

Well Hitler and Arnold are both Austrians.

Admittedly, Ted Cruz is my first choice, but I do consider Trump to be a nationalist (”Make America Great Again”), a populist (his message resonates with almost every aspect of our society) and a patriot, which is why he’s so damned popular. It’s also the reason why so many people look at Putin (who is also a nationalist, populist and patriot) and wish we had an American version of him.

Not necessarily.

DT inherited a vast fortune from his father, a huge NY developer.

AS came over to this country virtually penniless and did very well for himself and started his own businesses.

Bet the Fatherland would rather have Hitler then Merkel right now...Achtung Baby!!

Ahh, the scare tactics...I was in my teens but I seem to remember similar dramatic attacks at him as well. No Trump is no Reagan and neither is Cruz.

The way this country is headed, I want someone to stand up for it, protect it and keep out the barbarians that are approaching our non-existent gates. However, I don’t simply want rhetoric...I want action on it. Not bashing Cruz, but what legislation as he authored that has been passed and made law that reflects his conservative values (I’m asking, not targeting Cruz). Trump reflects few conservative values but damn he speaks about America much like Reagan did and I do believe he can make deals in Washington if elected. The question is, will the tenor of those deals lean left or right?

I am conflicted, there are aspects of both Trump and Cruz that I like and dislike. I don’t get to vote in a primary until March (Florida) so I still have some time before I vote. The only thing I can say, as far as I’m concerned, it’s a two man race.

When you have to invoke Godwin’s Law, you’ve gone full Beck.

No one should go Full Beck.

I don’t know about that. He put out an ad today that implied Donald wants to bulldoze old ladies.

Ted is not that smart after all. And nobody likes him. I mean, besides Glenn Beck.

The moral of this story. Do not turn on Trump. Ted would have been better off drafting Donald and taking the VP slot. Instead he decided to grab the ring.

Hitler probably is laughing in Hell at what's happening in Germany right now. He basically felt the German people deserved whatever happened to them because THEY lost the war.

Today’s populism is over nationalism and it didn’t just pop up out of the blue, it popped up because the 2014 Congress and Senate did absolutely nothing, zero, zip but support Obama and let Reid and Pelosi continue with their destructive and history revising politics.

I have said many times here that Cruz is a classy and smart guy... but aligning himself with Beck again smells of desperation. It just reminds everyone of his and Beck’s previous ill considered antics on the border handing out soccer balls and stuffed animals to illegal invaders. I don’t care what their “motives” were; it was stupid and made both look stupid.

Um, no. I’ll suggest reading a pre WW2 German history book.

Is that worse than the Stalin currently in the Oval Office?? There I said it

Yes. Because the 'guy on our side' will get things through Obama never would have, with the blessings of the Right.

Left foot, right foot, down the road to totalitarianism. So it has been for a while.
