A spokesman for Sen. Ted Cruz's presidential campaign said Tuesday it would be a "blow" to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin if she endorsed businessman Donald Trump for president.
"I think it [would] be a blow to Sarah Palin, because Sarah Palin has been a champion for the conservative cause, and if she was going to endorse Donald Trump, sadly, she would be endorsing someone who's held progressive views all their life on the sanctity of life, on marriage, on partial-birth abortion," Cruz campaign spokesman Rick Tyler said on CNN's "New Day."

“That picture and caption up on Drudge does not help Cruz.”
LOL. I hope Matt is now all in.
I've been reading through this, forming an opinion. Your statement got me thinking how a Palin nomination fits in.
Trump knows how to frame things to his advantage. Those Palin supported previously didn't seem to know how to do that. He knows Palin and her strengths. If he praises Palin for her expertise on energy issues, so important at this juncture, he will have people regarding her support as a plus. The other issue is states rights. She's real strong about that. And common core...MamaBear doesn't like people messing with others kids and grandkids.
:: it would be a “blow” to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin ::
I’m excited to see the phrase “blow” and Sarah Palin in the same sentence.
Todd, I hope you don’t hunt me down for that!
Has the Cruz campaign even approached Sarah regarding an endorsement?
I've never seen it, but the "he doesn't get along with anyone" rumors started a long time ago, before Trump even entered the race. It's possible that the arrogance needed to head a country isn't perceived well among friends and co-workers.
Sarah Palin has endorsed an array of RINOs. Such would be no surprise.
Cruz may be finished in politics if he keeps this up.
What arena has Palin filled in the past few years?
No, it doesn't. That's for sure.
I think it attaches a valid sterotype. It fits Cruz's incorporation of religion into his stump speeches, and his fire-and-brimstone delivery of "government is broken" message.
Not shallow just realistic. She enjoys her status as King Maker. The one everyone seeks out when they need a bump in the polls. I have no doubt she is a smart person. If she was true to her values she wouldn’t be near Trump who has a very good record of backing democrats.
I know that causes a lot of butthurt among the Trump Zealots but its true. the only true conservative running is Cruz but since he doesn’t talk like Trump he is catching flak. I recall times here when Cruz was the man. But now that Trump pretty much sucked the air out of the room with his blowhard attitude and Obnoxious style, Cruz is like the black sheep here.
Cruz campaign spokesman Rick Tyler should be fired today for that statement.
At the least it’s bad politics.
I would hope so! She endorsed him in his senate run in Texas, and that was beneficial to him.
Trump owns a building on Wall Street.
Hes far more ‘Goldman Sachs’ than any other politician.
If the public wakes up to the fact that he is not qualified for the office, he will be disgraced. He better quit before he gets fired.
Cry babies.
There fixed it for ya.
I still think Palin should have run in 2012. She might not have won the nomination, but just participating would have been good for her, the Republican party, and the country.
Attacking Sarah Palin is also a foolish idea.
She is still someone most conservatives hold dear and they still simmer over how she and her family were treated by everyone in the uniparty from the demonrats, to their one-stream media, to the GOPe as well.
Attacking her now, for pretty much anything, likely hurts more than it helps, especially in a Republican primary election.
Lastly, Trump is a 100% Natural Born Citizen and proud of it. So is Sarah Palin. Their nationalism is strong and true red, white and blue.
Unfortunately, while Ted Cruz is in everyone's minds a patriotic 100% American, not all see him as a Natural Born American.
Those voters believe that Cruz, like obama, is probably a born citizen, but not a natural born citizen and they can't knowingly violate the Constitution by voting for a President Cruz.
As long as that Constitutional question remains for Ted Cruz, I can understand people not wanting their vote for Cruz to place their reputation and credibility before that kind of question mark, too.
That would be way too obama for that brand of conservative voter and, overall, a much a higher level penalty than supporting a "not conservative enough" candidate.
Both are psychosemantic
