Trump told the audience at Liberty University that to bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States he would make Apple "build their damn computers and things in this country." While this isn't a bad idea, or even the first time it has been suggested, Trump didn't offer any specifics on how he would force Apple to abruptly change its manufacturing.
"Please, we have such amazing people in this country: smart, sharp, energetic, they're amazing," Trump said. 'I was saying make America great again, and I actually think we can say now, and I really believe this, we're gonna get things coming... we're gonna get Apple to start building their damn computers and things in this country, instead of in other countries."
There's currently no legal reason as to why Apple would have to bring all of its manufacturing stateside under a Trump presidency, although factors like incentives and tax breaks for the company could be offered. Nevertheless, Trump didn't detail his plans for forcing Apple to manufacture in the United States at all.

Yes, there were. He promises the use of force to take control of private property. That's fascism.
Of course, it's all just more nonsense talk.
And if elected they'll just be nonsense executive orders. Right?
Trump has no comprehension for the Constitution, it's purpose, or its operating principles.
He has at least one core value: himself. Nonstop self promotion.
He is a staggering idiot. The mfg jobs in Asia are low-skill, low-pay. Apple is a juggernaut at creation of jobs in the US and these are largely high-skill, high-pay. Here are a few numbers that Apple put out one year ago; these have been criticized by some as overly optimistic. Even if you cut them, 50%, it is still amazing job creation.
January 8, 2015
Number to the jobs it has created or supported in U.S: 1.03 million.
Applications designed for Apple’s smartphones and tablets have helped create more than 627,000 U.S. jobs.
334,000 jobs have resulted from its spending and growth.
66,000 people work directly for the company in the U.S.
“...an entire industry has been built around app design and development.â In 2013, customers spent more than $10 billion in the App Store
Tim Cook has worked in the past few years to boost U.S. manufacturing and open domestic data centers. Apple invested more than $100 million to begin Mac Pro assembly in Austin, Texas.
Apple has 265 retail stores in 44 states with a total of 30,000 employees [2014]. That’s compared with 250 stores and 26,000 retail workers in 2012.
It has 8,000 U.S.-based suppliers with materials coming from 31 states.
It spent more than $3 billion with U.S. suppliers running small or diverse businesses last year.
The last time Apple released its estimate for job creation, in 2012, it pegged the number at 598,500 in the U.S. The company reported having 50,250 U.S. jobs at the time.
I could see Trump really fouling everything up with his huge ego.
Trump is great at throwing around jargon.
If Trump were serious about this he would be talking about how to create the conditions in this country where companies want to bring their manufacturing here.
That’s how it’s done.
Not by threats or force. If he tries to force them these companies will simply leave the country entirely.
I do believe he did NOT say ‘force’, he said ‘get’ Apple to build in the US. That means we make America a place Apple WANTS to build their products. Or we slap a big ass tariff on products made in China. Their choice.
Shhhhhh! Don’t spoil their Cruz Pipe high with pesky reality!!! :p
But it will be amazing! And great? So amazing and great that we’ll get bored with his amazingness and greatness.
That’s the kind of stuff he is dying to negotiate.
Build Apple things here? Does that include all the toxic waste and child slave labor camps too???
If anything his crowds are making him think it’s a movement.
And you will pay more for Trump’s crappy version of the Apple iPhone. What a chump he takes you all for.
Too late for that.
It’s gonna be SO great, you’re not going to be able to believe how great it’s gonna be. You’re gonna win so much you’re going to get TIRED of winning, believe me.
If it costs more not to employ slave labor, prison labor, and child labor, then I say that’s a damned good thing. It’s supposed to be ‘free’ trade but they’ve turned it into ‘slave’ trade.
Says the poster who is constantly spamming FR.
He’s already fouling things up. An opportunity to take the White House for conservatism, and he walks in an does a non-stop monologue, sucking all the air out of the room, making way for Hillary, Bernie, or himself. Each only a variation of liberalism.
What a narcisistic New York jerk.
My first article post in months.
Clearly you have a Trumpbot definition of “spam” - anything not drooling slobber all over the New York jerk is “spam.”
Not even in office yet and he’s playing dictator.
At least he didn’t say “doohickey”
