He died of complications from ongoing health problems
Glenn Frey, a founding member of the Eagles, has died after suffering from ongoing health problems, the legendary rock band said. He was 67.
Frey died on Monday in New York City following a âcourageousâ weeks-long battle with rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia, the Eagles said in a statement on their website.
âThe Frey family would like to thank everyone who joined Glenn to fight this fight and hoped and prayed for his recovery,â the statement said. âWords can neither describe our sorrow, nor our love and respect for all that he has given to us, his family, the music community & millions of fans worldwide.

He still chain smokes Marlboros as well. He’s not human.
I love that guy.
Sounded like he went in for surgery on his ulcerative colitis and caught pneumonia.

Felder is incredible.
He is the rare example where drugs, alcohol and cigarettes actually preserve a person. Similar to the mummies of Egypt.
I’m working on the theory that Keef actually died in 1985 and nobody had the heart to tell him.
I saw The Eagles and Ronstadt waaaaaay back when at the Oakland CA Coliseum....
At least I think I did...smuggled in a fifth of 151 rum...GREAT concert!
Tip of the hat, bravo!
Farewell 1 Tour - Live from Melbourne is a double DVD by Eagles, released in 2005 (see 2005 in music). It was filmed in Melbourne, Australia at the Rod Laver Arena on the 14, 15 and 17 of November 2004, in the same name tour, featuring two new songs. It is the second record featuring the Eagles as quartet (without Don Felder) but it did feature a horn section.
The name 'Farewell Tour' has nothing to do with the band's plan to quit touring, and this is confirmed by Glenn Frey's quote in the interview contained in the DVD: "The longer this goes on, the better these songs sound. There is a 'sort of' honesty in calling the tour Farewell 1, with its implication that Farewell 2 will follow soon."
