Something is not right in this story. Workers always get breaks and it is usually more than two 5 minute breaks.

I just wrote about my experience on another thread, the topic was it being ok for Muslims to rape captive women or non-Muslim women in general.
I wondered the same thing. They live in nice places, wondered where the lady's husband worked; she looked affluent. I have no idea why they were here but was sure curious which country they came from and how long in the US.
Ariens makes a nice, compact, snowblower that throws the snow almost better than my Toro. It looks quite a few pounds lighter than mine which I might still be able to get it up and down steps, can't with my Toro.
I guess I can see if it's a production line, two unscheduled breaks in addition to lunch and I thought companies were required to have some minutes in the morning and afternoon or the same each shift. Anyway it would be hugely disruptive and possibly cause resentment with other employees.
Actually my reaction was why would the company dare mess with the Muslims, giving them an ultimatum? And I thought can't they let their prayers go and do them later? They are very OCD about those prayers.
Christians have to keep it all out of the work place. The only thing is Ash Wednesday. I haven't heard of any being asked to remove the black smudge on their foreheads, the few that observe that.
I wonder if a government that is forcing religious groups to pay for abortions, forcing cake shops to serve gay weddings, that is forcing flower shops to serve gay weddings will force this lawnmower factory to let Muslims pray because Free Religion.

Private company, they can do what they want to including incur the legal liability this policy may entail. No public company would dare take such a position as the shareholder lawsuits could go for decades, and management would be too risk-averse to put their phoney-baloney jobs at risk.
You work for the Company and they set the rules!!! End of story...

I worked and lived in the Middle East and Indonesia for more than ten years. Both Muslim regions.
Muslims are meant to pray five times a day. How they make this prayer is a personal issue. However there is no hard and fast rule that they have to stop work and the ones that claim this to be so are only trying to game the system.
They can conduct small personal prayers while they are working. The only reason they get away with having prayer breaks in the US and other western countries is because of the current lame preoccupation with appeasing minorities.
It infuriates me to see western companies falling for this scam and I commend the mower company for waking up to it. Fire their arses.

Hopefully Ariens sticks to their guns. Cargill kinda caved to the 150 muzzies they fired by allowing them to reapply for their jobs after 30 days instead of the usual 6 months.
Ariens will fire Muslim employees who are asking for 2 extra breaks per day to pray — thus interrupting prduction line. 53 workers affected.
