I don’t think they’re allowed to fire people just for being Muslim.

They Muslims are asking for more break time to pray twice a shift.

It cuts down on productivity and unfair to non-Muslim employees.

No, but they can fire them over productivity issues. A company may be required to accommodate religious practices, but it’s only required to be reasonably accommodative.

Providing two breaks a day, where a Muslim can use that time as he sees fit Is all a company would be required.

I don’t disagree, but if you study what is done In the name of Islam, that should change.

I don’t think they’re allowed to fire people just for being Muslim.

In the absence of an employment contract, which is a binding legal document, in states such as Florida, an employer can fire an employee for any reason, or for no reason.

I suppose it would be wise to avoid firing someone for some discriminatory reason, but since an employee can be fired for no reason, I guess that situation is adequately handled simply by the employer not stating a politically incorrect reason, e.g. "we no longer require your services".

In Florida, there is also a "right to work" without being forced into union membership, but there is no "right to keep your job" in the absence of a formal contract.

It's called "freedom"...

They’re not firing them. They’re saying they can no longer have extra break time to pray. Some have chosen to stay on those terms, some have not.

Who said they were being fired for being Muslim?

The problem is one of maintaining ptoduction rate. On a high volume assembly line labor is balanced and break times are proscribed. There is no way to operate if even a few want breaks other than at allowed times. They are choosing not to work within those constraints.

They're not. They're firing them for doing something besides work while they're on the clock. Perfectly reasonable.
