Ted Cruz’s Father: My Son “Anointed” To “Take Control of Society”..
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | January 17, 2016 | Sundance

n a sermon last year at an Irving, Texas, megachurch that helped elect Ted Cruz to the United States Senate, Cruz’ father Rafael Cruz indicated that his son was among the evangelical Christians who are anointed as “kings” to take control of all sectors of society, an agenda commonly referred to as the “Seven Mountains” mandate, and “bring the spoils of war to the priests”, thus helping to bring about a prophesied “great transfer of wealth”, from the “wicked” to righteous gentile believers.

Well, another successful FR post. I wanted to talk about the political optics of peculiar religious posturing regarding one of the candidates and we devolved into a religious sect swaggering session complete with insults and now ALL CAPS!

I did manage to get a couple of paragraphs written in the new book. I also managed to transfer outline notes and do a little editing. I thought I would come back and check and yup...its turned into a Free Republic post. I gotta love all you folks here. What a diverse family of FRiends.

Like I said earlier...politics is more fun than soccer.

Now the particular aspects of Ted Cruz’s father’s religious leanings and sermons. I do understand the lineage of it now. Still, it sounds, how shall I put it, unconventional to the average ear. For some folks here, it has a sound foundation in Christian thought. For others, maybe not. Regardless of that argument, I wanted to touch upon the political optics of it. It does have that snake handling sort of vibe to it. Nothing wrong with snakes per se... although I prefer two-headed turtles, but that’s my bag. But something that looks out of the mainstream going to church sitting in the pews and listening to the sermon and singing a few gospels type church might not blend well in the political optic field. When voters see the father walking up and down the stage doing a Marjoe Gortner routine it kinda makes one crook their head a bit and go...huh? That’s dad, what about the son.

DOn’t get me wrong, I kinda liked Marjoe. A holy-roller if there ever was one. Just didn’t want to vote for him for mayor or anything like that. So if the father’s sermons get a widespread audience, that could cause trouble for Ted. Not from the other candidates...no one is going to go there and hopefully Trump is smart enough to stay away from that one with a ten foot pole. But the voters in states outside of Iowa will believe that Ted kisses snakes or whatever ridiculous notion the GOPe puts in their head through their MSM sources. They would take great joy in casting Cruz as some sort of Holy Warrior all girdled up with the Armor and ready to do battle with snakes in each hand.

Its optics. Its perception. Already Cruz has a problem with being barely a one term senator that wants to take the mantle of the greatest office on the land. We already did that. With Trump...the public thinks they know who he is cause he’s been around so long. (not saying its right or anything, just what it is)

So whether benign or not, Ted might have a problem. The article on Conservative Treehouse is of course blown up for full magnification because its a pro-trump site. Be that as it may...One political cartoon in a major daily paper with Ted girdled up in the armor with snakes at his feet and whatever might not do well to get all the votes needed to win not only the primaries, but the general where we need cross overs to get the magical numbers to defeat the fraud.

But it really won’t matter anyway. Because the GOPe have rigged the whole front end of the primary process to prevent someone like Cruz to get enough delegates to win the convention. Even for Trump its pretty dicey. He might be the only one to blow through the crap the GOPe has set up to get one of their boys down our throats. But then again, Trump may not be able to do it. He will have a lot of delegates, but the boys in the back room have more hidden away in shoe boxes and laundry hampers to pull out when needed.

Anyway, that was the point in posting the article. Now it really is good night folks....good night folks.

That is not what he was saying. He was saying that all Christians anointed kings who are supposed to go out and be hugely successful in the world and then tithe that wealth back to the church.

Ted is a Southern Baptist. His dad has gone off in a different direction. I know that will bother some folks, but my own dad and I had theological differences, and we never resolved those, but we still loved and respected each other as believers. But nobody is going to complain about Ted being a Southern Baptist, even if his dad is a little out there. That’s just life. Some folks will be put off by it. Not enough to make a difference in the final results. IMHO.

Peace,

SR

I want to know why Rafael Sr went to Canada in 1969 in the heat of the VIETNAM war and returned in 1975 when it was over.

Ted the southern Baptist and His own Father calling Ted, a divine prophecy- seems to be, an over the top bunch of crap.

If I am wrong- so what? The chances are nil.

This is seriously delusional. Rafael must think he is one of the blues brothers.

If Ted Cruz is anointed by God to be president then nothing can stop him. If he is stopped then it wasn’t an anointing to be president. See Daniel 2. God does raise up rulers. Time will tell.

The media will have a FIELD DAY with Ted’s father...but first they’re hoping (praying) that he can stop Trump, but then it’s BOTH BARRELS at Old Man Cruz.

FOR SURE!

Actually, I think the she-devil will get the presidency, because America is still under Gods judgement for rejecting Him.

I know some folks who quote the bits about how God appoints our leaders/rulers so we must be obedient to them - I think they overstretch the meanings of some things to justify non-action when our leaders/rulers are as un-Godly as they come.

Ted's dad apparently thinks that Ted is the Lord's anointed destined to take control of society.

Maybe he's thinking that Ted is destined to be president.

What do you think of Fred Trump's concern about Trump putting his name on all of his properties?

I started with Cruz, as I moved to Trump, a number things began to bug me about Cruz, especially in the area of religion. As soon as you begin stating your religious faith people either play holier than thou or insist your faith isn't genuine.

With that in mind, I got very concerned when Cruz starts talking to voters about "putting on the whole armor of God." I try to do that every day---but I don't think that kind of language has a place in secular public campaigns. We are not electing a Pope or preacher. Reagan was careful to pay respect to God in all things without being overly preachy. It concerns me.

It’s tough deciding about this article. Is Cruz the devil or the saint? If Trump is the devil then Cruz is the saint but what if Trump is the saint?

It’s so confusing and shifts from thread to thread.

From the linked video...Sounds a lot like the basis of a pretty powerful capitalist republic established around 1776, if you ask me.

Thing is, when JESUS rules, if a nation does not bring Him His tythe, that nation suffers a drought. Being a vegetarian world makes that rain most precious. So when a nation despises the Lamb that was slain who is worthy to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing, it doesn’t go well.

It doesn’t go well for a nation that legalizes child sacrifice. 2016 is 40 years for Israel.
