Ted Cruz has taken more heat for his comments about âNew York valuesâ than he has anything else he has said since he was elected in 2012. Naturally, since most of the mainstream media is based out of New York, it has been high horse riding time as so many have gotten their panties in a wad over the comments. Ironically, they take more offense at what Cruz said than in Donald Trumpâs blatant birtherism. Being a birther is cool now that itâs not Barack Obama who is the subject of Trumpâs comments.
Unfortunately for Trump, who deftly (but at the same time shamelessly) evoked 9/11 as a means of responding to Ted Cruzâs comments, he cannot escape the very things he has said over the course of the last 15 years. Trump, as I have said on prior occasions is a charlatan. He is not a conservative at all. He is not now and never has been one. Outside of immigration (which is far more based on phony populism than policy), his views on taxes, healthcare, foreign policy and trade carry all the hallmarks of a progressive Democrat.

Thank you!
It doesn’t matter that it was repealed. It established the original intent of Congress vis vis natural born citizen. SCOTUS is compelled to give deference to acts of the First COngress in any holding. Which is why Obama is POTUS and there is not jacksquat you or the other birther morons can do to change that. So you’re wasting bandwidth and time copying and pasting stuff that will convince nobody of anything. Cheers!
HARD WORK, TENACITY, TOUGHNESS
No doubt, but those are also Iowa values ...and... American values.
Cryptic, that. Care to give a bit of explanation?
“Has Trump read the Constitution? Yes or no?”
Why would you want to ask me such an asinine question?
However, Take Ted Cruz, for example, the fleshly incarnation of the Constitution according to his supporters. The man is simply perfection in all his ways and thoughts. He doesn’t have to read the Constitution, he IS the Constitution.
The writers of the Constitution placed in the Constitution a treaty protection clause. For a treaty to be made into law, a two-thirds majority of the Senate has to approve it. Cruz could probably point to the area in his brain where that clause is imprinted in his synapses.
The White House got together with Senator Corker of Tennessee and wrote a bill — the Corker bill — that allowed Obama to implement his Iranian treaty. Obama knew he could not get the Iranian treaty through the senate as a treaty, so he took that description off of it and submitted it as a piece of legislation. The Corker bill required a two-thirds majority to KILL the bill. Your man Cruz, despite being the Constitution in the flesh, and overlooking the obvious smear on the Constitution, voted for the bill. It was part of the Obama agenda. Obama wanted that bill passed so badly. He called up a whole lot of politicians personally. The bill passed with Senator Cotton of Arkansas being the only Republican senator to vote against it.
Now, Cruz goes about the country, campaigning against the very bill he voted for and help to pass. Cruz vows to scuttle the bill the first thing he does if he is elected president. So that begs the question: Why in the world did he vote for it? Rush says that Obama goes about the country campaigning against his own polices. I suppose Cruz got that from Obama.
Such logic! Such a compelling, rational argument!
* chuckle. * Forgive me if I refrain from replying in kind.
As happens with many people as they get older and encounter real life experiences, their views change.
++++
Right. Like Rubio. I see what you mean.
Ted Cruz is a lawyer who has done nothing in his life.
Iran hasn't signed it.
Don't tell me why Cruz sucks. Tell me why Trump is going to be the greatest president since Washington.
Trump is Schwartzenegger II.
He will run from the right to get the nomination then he will rule from the left.
Trump is all mouth and when push comes to shove, he will go left harder than an Indy Car driver going into the last turn. Just watch.
“Considered as a natural born citizen”
Consider:
Think carefully about (something), typically before making a decision. Oxford dictionary
Madison considered it...and removed in 1795.
LOL!
What have you done with yours?
Vattel wrote a treatise. A treatise is a restatement of the laws. It is not controlling law anywhere and never has been. Vattel is not now or has he ever been God.
But some people worship Vattel with the same enthusiasm that they worship Trump.
So you say. So lets see the written record of why the Act was changed. Good luck with that.
I’m really concerned about the direction this site has gone. The comments I see directed at Ted Cruz on this site are as bad as you can find on DU or any other left wing site.
Ted Cruz is a solid conservative, especially on Social and Moral issues. He will appoint true conservatives to the Supreme Court.
I fear Trump will fill the court with Lawrence Tribes and Ruth Bader Ginsbergs. Fellow Northeastern liberals like himself.
“Iran hasn’t signed it.”
Correct as far as I know, but today the sanctions were removed:
from Drudge Report:
VIENNA — Just hours after Tehran and Washington swapped long-held prisoners, the United States and European nations lifted oil and financial sanctions on Iran and released roughly $100 billion of its assets, after international inspectors concluded the country had followed through on its promises to dismantle large sections of its nuclear program.
$100 billion to the largest terrorist nation on earth.
Of course, Iran is allowed by the unsigned agreement to police its own nuclear development. Such a great deal. Even Cruz doesn’t like that, he says. But he voted for the bill.
Not legally.
He voted for a procedural rule that 98 other Senators voted for. I think he was wrong and should have stood up to it.
The vote is meaningless anyway because Obama is putting the treaty into effect not only without Congressional Approval but without even getting a signature on the agreement from Iran.
So the Corker Amendment means nothing anyway. Obama didn't need no stinking Corker Amendment. He has a pen and a phone.
Now tell me why Trump is going to be the best President ever. Where is his track record on Conservative issues?
Has any other candidate in this race contributed to Hillary Clinton's presidential or senate campaigns?
How can you trust Trump?
If you were sitting on the other side of the table in a billion dollar real estate transaction, would you take him at his word on anything?
