You know, when I first read about this, it reminded me of the crazy attacks on southerners. There are good people in every state. Do not attack everyone in a state over the actions of a few. It is like anti-gun people blaming every gun owner for the actions of a few. Get over it. No state is perfect just like no man is perfect.

To hell with New York’s liberal values.
Only liberals and Trump fanatics (but I repeat myself) are outraged.

I lived in NYC for 6 years. It is not conservative, nor is upstate NY. However Trumpââ¬â¢s answer really was off the mark in this way. When do Americans NOT jump in and help one another? After tornadoes, earthquakes, winter storms, hurricanes, you name it. Does it make them conservative? NO! Of course not. It means we are all human...well most of us...and we do not have hearts of stone. It has nothing to do with liberalism or conservatism, but humanity, taking care of one another. So, Cruz did not jump the shark there. Trump only proved that NY-ers are like the rest of the country, who jump in and do what needs to be done after a disaster. It has nothing to do with being conservative and Cuomoâs remarks pretty well prove Cruzâs observations.

Born and raised in Queens NYC.
An exciting and tough place to live. Neighborhoods are everything and people do take care of each other.
NYC has both the kindest and the meanest people I know.
I am partially retired in Pennsylvania now. NY just got too expensive to live in without working at heart-attack level.
Everyone knows what Cruz meant by his remark and I think that at this point the people complaining about it look like silly pansy asses (as my father would say).

This issue with the new Russert video for context has moved to a new level...only leftists now are still clinging to this flimsy 9/11 Trump defense.

Cruz was characterizing Trump, not New Yorkers in general or at large.
