Smart move by Mr. Cruz. No Republican will win New York in the general. And meanwhile he just got the rest of Republican voters to stop and think about Mr. Trump, and lump him together with the other liberal politicians in New York City. What a smart move. That’s my context. The idea that Cruz’s comment will cost him many votes that he would have otherwise had isn’t meaningful. It’s just wrong.
