Leaving aside the issue that natural born should mean both parents are born citizens inside of the USA to be a natural born citizen child - there was just zero evidence of outside USA territory birth for Obama. No plane ticket records - no over seas hospital records - no local folklore of the white woman giving birth in a Kenyan village, etc.
Cruz on the other hand was not only born outside of the USA but was giving Canadian natural born citizenship rights.
So there is a difference between Obama's case and Cruz's case.
With that said, I am the first to admit it is a campaign tactic by Trump (politics ain't bean bag) and to me Cruz is eligible.
The bottom line — we must anticipate intrigues by the Ruling Class. If Cruz can take down Professor Laurence tribe in a fair debate [no moderator, just a timer], then shazam! Problem goes away.
And it would be presidential of Trump to help compare Cruz eligibility with Obama’s and McCain’s.
Sure, it’s outdated to say that only the father makes the child ‘natural born’, but its on record as ‘original intent’. And if anyone thinks the Establishment won’t exploit that, that person is fooling himself.
Trumpinator,
How did you come up with that definition of “natural born”?
Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution sets the natural born standard, but, to my knowledge, does not define it.
Oh heck, just call it what it is...they are both anchor babies for the paternal side. They are both ineligible! Under both interpretations: 2 citizen parents or citizenship follows the father.
