Lindsey Graham to endorse Jeb Bush for president

Sen. Lindsey Graham will endorse former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush for president, according to two sources familiar with the plans, and the two are slated to appear together in North Charleston Friday morning for the announcement. The GOP field had been scrambling to secure the support of Graham and his backers since the hawkish South Carolina senator, an influential foreign policy voice, dropped out of the race last month.

The only reason Lindsey Graham was running for president was to help Jeb Bush. When told to attack Trump and Cruz he did. When told to drop out he dropped out. When told to endorse Jeb he did.

It will be highly interesting to see how the GOPe eventually puts this Mexican on the trash heap and tries to bring in another contender that will toe the establishment line. Their only hope is trying to keep Trump or Cruz from getting the nomination on the first round and then bringing in some putz of a ringer establishment zombie.

I agree with you. My first choice remains Cruz; but we must acknowledge that if Trump hadn't entered this race, there is a very real chance that we would now be looking at Jeb! coasting to the nomination.

We thus owe Trump a large measure of gratitude for undermining the GOPe scheme. If Cruz is not the eventual nominee, I will gladly support Trump. He is not a perfect conservative, but given what he will be replacing, our nation will heave a great sigh of relief one year from now.
