Received wisdom is what âeverybody knowsâ is true without anyone having to think about it. Received wisdom has a lot of defense mechanisms: for example, trading in unexamined assumptions, avoiding contrary evidence, dismissing the need of evidence at all, or demonizing those who question it. Question-begging slogans are another. Mantras like ânothing to do with Islamâ or âwar on womenâ substitute for evidence and analysis. Another is âyou canât say that,â used to dismiss or marginalize comments or proposed policies by assuming disastrous consequences, or implying that saying such things is morally repugnant and, to quote Obamaâs favorite obfuscation, âdoesnât represent who we are as a country.â In fact, âyou canât say thatâ is usually an ideological weapon, or an excuse for inaction.

His delivery system is rough but the truth needs to be told
Truly, if you can think, that is the worst thing you can say about him.
It seems as though Trump’s biggest asset is his ability to think on his feet. His only preparation last night was the “angry” thing, which he presented very well. Other than that, he waited to hear what was being thrown at him and reacted honestly to all of it. The people that are the best at doing that kind of thing are honest people. Politicians can’t pull that one off because, every answer or non answer carries weight for them, so they have to prepare and stay between the lines of their strategy.
We saw the effects of this narrative in 2008, when John McCain gave Barack Obama a pass on his relationship with race-baiter Jeremiah Wright, terrorist Bill Ayers, crook Tony Reszko, and apologist for Palestinian Arab terror Rashid Khalidi. McCain also passed over Obamas refusal to release his complete medical records and college transcripts. All so McCain wouldnt appear racist and alienate all those fence-sitting black voters who might vote Republican. Mitt Romney was just as timid in 2012. His worst preemptive cringe came in the foreign policy debate, when moderator Candy Crowley shamefully and incorrectlt corrected Romney about Obamas characterization of the Benghazi attacks. Instead of scolding Crowley (cant bully a woman!) and Obama (cant appear racist!), Romney just stood there with a deer-in-the-headlights look while Obama smirked.
It was not a calculation to appeal to black voters that motivated McCain. I think even that moron knew he wasnt getting any black votes. It was a fundamental, tribal, anthropological, primal-primate urge to fit in with the group. And the group is the cocktail party set in DC. We mention that a lot in FR and often in apparent jest. But I am not jesting. Fear of being the target of snickers at DC cocktail parties is a deep primal unconscious fear that strongly motivates ALL establishment republicans.

Bingo! Go Trump Go!
Apparently Americans know the truth but have been muzzled (judging by Trump’s support level).
That was masterful. He completely put that issue to bed and made it a net positive for his campaign. The press was already writing the narrative and he completely took it back.
I can’t stand articles like this where “unnecessary” quotes are used “every other phrase” or word.
Unnecessary quotes are a “pet peeve” of mine as well.
Our country is in the toilet because we are not allowed to speak TRUTH.
If anyone had stood up and told the TRUTH about Barak Obama he would have never become President and THAT is why Trump is so important right now.
We MUST take back the language if we want to save the country and Western Civilization as a whole.
Kind of an odd "interlude" down a ways in the article. It seems to mistake Trump as GOP operative in its conclusions - his election would be the slam that forces the GOP to rethink its positions and consider aligning itself with those it purports to "represent".
Until then, the "status quo" of the Party remains pretty static...
PS - America can handle the Truth - it's the politicians and other idiots who fear the Truth.
AMEN to that and it is an America that is starting to SHOW its JUST ANGER.
