It is assumed it is DOA but these people need to be stopped and recalled.
Good luck with that.
Six Democrats in Georgiaâs state House of Representatives unveiled a bill on Jan. 11 that would ârequire seizureâ of âcertain weaponry and ammunitionâ that is deemed as contraband, effectively banning âassault weaponsâ and âlarge-capacity magazines.â
HB 731, which is sponsored by Mary Margaret Oliver, Carolyn Hugley, Pat Gardiner, Stacey Abrams, Darâshun Kendrick and Dee Dawkins-Haigler, would amend current law to âprohibit the possession, sale, transport, distribution or use of certain assault weapons, large capacity magazines, armor-piercing bullets, and incendiary .50 caliber bullets.â
The text of the bill goes on to say that certain weapons would be required to be seized by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, with increased penalties for use and possession of machine guns, among other related regulations.
Information posted to sponsor Oliverâs website clearly notes that HB 731, which was introduced on the first day of the 2016 session, would âban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.â
In the same statement, the Democratic representative made her stance on the sale of certain guns more than clear.
âGeorgia needs debate about these weapons which are only used for rapidly killing people,â the statement read. âAssault weapons are not necessary for deer hunting.â
The text of HB 731 proclaims that the sale, possession or distribution of âany assault weaponâ will come at a profound cost.
âNo person shall possess, distribute, transport, transfer, or sell any assault weapon,â it reads. âAny person who distributes, transports, or imports an assault weapon into this state shall be guilty of a felony and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than two nor more than ten years.â
Also referred to as the “Bloodbath Bill.”

Gun'Seizure' Bill Introduced by Democrats in GA
How do you supposed it got changed like that?
Washington State seems to have a similar bill ready to push through as well.
Apparently, they would like the stomach-churning carnage of the next American civil war to start in Georgia, their own back yard. If so, they are not long for this world.
Reminds me of the dumbass dem bill in colorado that wanted to limit “magazine”s..
You don’t know what “rapid killing” looks like sweetheart.
I agree. This is dangerous.
I wonder if they would be scared of my non-black rifle: my FN Herstal SCAR 17S in flat dark earth?
lol
The female authors haven’t visited Berlin on New Year’s Eve lately have they?
And out of the other side of their mouth they’ll tell us to stop protesting because they aren’t trying to take our guns.
I would hate to see what this country looks like in 25 years.....

You live in Georgia, don’t you? This should interest you.
A similar law in gun-ban-happy NY has a 4% compliance rate.
If you look at the Georgia legislature R-D makeup this bill has no chance. Just attention-seeking behavior like dyeing their hair some unnatural color or getting a nose ring.
