She has been replaced with a sad caricature, which includes so many embarrassing meltdowns and contradictions it would require a whole separate column to chronicle them.

Nowadays Ann has had to metamorphose from provocateur to the punditry equivalent of "your mama" jokes with a side of bullying. For that's what happens to you when you start uttering complete nonsensical tripe like the following and call it a "hot take":

Met her on a book tour. Got invited backstage by the Young Republicans of Eureka College, Ronald Reagan's alma mater.
She asked if it was OK if she smoked. Winston Kings (longs/110's). I thought that was pretty down to earth, all in all.
Anyway- here at Free Republic, now days; unless you are 100% orthodox on any given issue, forces of opposition align in an attack configuration and hound an opposing view to the ends of the earth. Kind of reactionary and not so deep in the thinking department.
Closing thoughts: Keep up launching all those attacks from your underground bunkers freeper keyboard commandos. I got the shores surrounding us covered.

The quintessential conservative position is to not use federal taxpayer money. It’s to fix the education system by letting states handle education, not another Federal government involved program. And then vouchers are not required.

I used to be a fan, but not so much anymore. She seems to be very intelligent, and quite witty at times. Lately it seems she tries to hard to be relevant.
