Sorry Tom, the “science is settled”; the debate is over...

Haven’t you read the news this past week?

Cruz is officially A-OK.

That was still in March of 2015. If he had reservations then, he could have said something then.

He'll end up in the courts one way or another.

They already decided the forced association of Obamacare was okay. I can't WAIT to see how this one turns out. /S

“Unless someone can produce naturalization paperwork that made him a citizen later in his life, he’s natural born”

Cruz is a natural born citizen of Canada.

To obtain his US citizenship he had to file paperwork, pay a fee and go through a process.

He only became a US citizen after this process was completed. It’s unclear when he did this but it was likely many years after he was born, when his family decided to move to the US.

There is paperwork for all of this and we’ll see it sooner or later.

What I’d be curious about here is any buzz going on among Democrats. Will they, indeed, push the issue.

Ironically it could be Trump the Democrats fear more. They can predict Cruz even if they hate Cruz. They never quite know what Trump is going to come up with.

he was born in a foreign country to a foreign father. He’s not a NBC by any stretch. He’s a citizen.

Au contraire, progs can turn on a dime, without double standards, they'd have no standards at all.

They will most certainly use every tool at their disposal to defeat either candidate.

By the contemporary laws of both lands, arguably counted “natural born” of both. The fee and paperwork wasn’t to “OBTAIN” the US citizenship, it was to get official affirmation of it. There wouldn’t have been any of the requirements demanded of foreigners.

DIRTY little secrets:

“Natural Born Citizen” is a legal term well established in English common law by 1720—it’s a LITTLE BIT older than the U,S, of A.

“Our Barry” is no way in hell qualified as a natural born citizen and EVERYBODY DOWN IN DC KNOWS IT.
That’s EVERYBODY!!!

This is nonsense. People are analyzing shadows and muttering that nothing is settled until the courts adjudicate every possible permutation of parental circumstances unto the nth generation. Nonsense.

A "natural born citizen" is someone who was a citizen at birth. The child of a U.S. citizen parent qualifies by definition.

Everything else is chasing figments of the imagination. Going back to the drafting of the constitution, the whole point of the citizenship requirement was to ensure that no political faction would be tempted to import a European figure with a title and possible star appeal, naturalize him after 90 days in Massachusetts or South Carolina, and reinsert the aristocratic principle into American politics. It really is that simple.

So if Congress as to pass a law under the Constitution it doesn’t matter.

Man you’re desperate.

DeLay is a true conservative and raises some good points here. A fellow Texan trying to help Ted out. Yet Ted goes crazy when issue is raised like he is trying to avoid something (besides his unreported $1MM+ Goldman Sachs loan).

He released his Canadian birth certificate. He proved he was NOT born in America.

I worked for his first campaign when he was elected. I had lots of respect for him and confident I was voting for a man who’d help change America.

When he resigned I lost all respect for him as a leader. He just took the money and ran. He turned from a real hammer to a preschool kids plastic hammer where he remains now and I would not vote for him for any office.

To obtain his US citizenship he had to file paperwork, pay a fee and go through a process.

What paperwork beyond a record of his birth? What process? Did it require someone to approve, or just a record of birth?
