WHITE HOUSE THREATENS AMERICA WITH IRREVERSIBLE EXECUTIVE ACTIONS VIDEO
http://overpassesforamerica.com/?p=23196 ^ | January 13, 2016

White House chief of staff Denis McDonough pushed back against the notion his president is played out in the wake of his last State of the Union address, promising “audacious executive action” in Barack Obama’s final year in office. During a breakfast with reporters in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, McDonough responded to the observation that the president’s final speech before Congress lacked the usual pledge to “go it alone” if lawmakers failed to act.

Coupled with the feeble executive actions on gun control announced earlier this month, had President Obama rethought the utility of acting unilaterally on issues important to the White House?

“We’ll do audacious executive action over the course of the rest of the year, I’m confident of that,” said McDonough, explaining that President Obama’s decision not to outline specific executive actions was more about a commitment to process than a lack of willpower.

“Process is your friend, but process also dictates what you can do,” McDonough said. “And we do want to make sure that the executive actions we undertake are not left hanging out there, subject to Congress undoing them.”

In addition to gun control, the White House has expressed interest in further unilateral actions on immigration reform, and in working around Congress to close the prison in Guantanamo Bay.

But McDonough said the White House is considering executive action on any and all issues, and that the main question President Obama plans to ask himself is “Why not?” “And so that’s the spirit through which we’ll approach this last year,” McDonough said.

Attorney General Lynch a few days ago made some comment about making the “changes” permanent so impossible to go back. But, I can’t find where media picked up on this ...

"There is no such thing as an irreversible executive order."

There certainly is. For instance, Commander in Chief Obama could order the military to move all of the Gitmo prisoners off the island, onto ships. He could then turn the entire Guantanamo base over to the Castros, declaring the lease to be ended. The new president would be faced with the Guantanamo base occupied by Cuban military, and a boatload of war criminals.

Fortunately, Obama is likely too incompetent to be able to pull this off, but don't doubt he'll be trying.

I agree with everything you say.
The problem however is that at no time in the last seven years has congress made a concerted effort to stop Obama.

When no one stands up to potential dictators they assume no one ever will.
The outcome is usually bad for everyone.
I don’t see Vidkun Ryan and the House stopping him. They just mortgaged my grandchildrens future to pay for everything king Obama desired.

If he gives Gitmo back to Cuba, we’ll be fine. It will harm America, but the damage is trivial compared to what the petty tyrant has already done to our country, especially to our children. The key is to reverse everything possible once we have a real president again, and I am confident that President Cruz will do exactly that.

Stuff you learn by being home schooled. You’d never learn the real story behind FDR’s administration in public school or liberal universities.

I'm not expecting Congress to do their job in the next year either. However, government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed. That consent has been withdrawn, and any effort to use force against Americans who see that force as illegitimate will have the positive and natural results that one would expect. That will, as you say, be a bad thing, but whether it happens is in the hands of Obama and of the thugs who work for him.

Later post:

Attorney General Lynch a few days ago made some comment about making the “changes” permanent so impossible to go back. But, I can’t find where media picked up on this ...

http://www.wnd.com/2016/01/u-s-attorney-general-to-institutionalize-obama-gun-laws/

“Munoz, a former executive with the National Council of La Raza, said it was her job “to make sure we build this really into the DNA across the federal bureaucracy, at a leadership level, but much more importantly to make sure that when political appointees like me are no longer here this (immigration strategy) is built into what those agencies do and think about every day.”

Munoz said it was important for all 18 federal agencies to standardize, set benchmarks and “measure successes,” ensuring states and localities create the desired “welcoming communities” for refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants of all types, including those not in the country legally.

Writing for Breitbart, Ben Shapiro, author of “The People vs. Barack Obama: The Criminal Case Against The Obama Administration,” said these efforts by Obama bureaucrats across the board offer a sobering backdrop for the next president, even if it should be Trump, Cruz or some other leading conservative.

“For all those who revel in the fact that there are 374 days until President Obama finally gets the hell out of the White House, a cautionary note: Obama and his colleagues are rigging the bureaucracy so that their unique brand of ‘hope and change’ extends far beyond their tenure,” Shapiro wrote.”

Could not this be reversed the same way? New directives? The policy changes could be ordered, the executives replaced?

FDR: the faithless, oath-breaking, scumbag who threw governance by constitutional means to the curb.

Just like his idol, Woodrow Wilson.

He can’t. Cut DOJ funding and employees (at least hiring), let go of all lawyer contractors and whatever Obama thought he done, comes undone under the burgeoning lawsuits from all the watch dogs.

I was thinking of him but towards the end his wife was running the show; and also way before our time. I was trying to keep it in our parents/grandparents lifetimes.

There is no such thing as an irreversible executive order. In fact, nothing supports such an order except a vague moral authority, or lacking that, power that grows out of the end of a gun barrel, as Chairman Mao would put it.

President Trump can fire all of the left wing lawyers in the AG office, then he can rescind each Executive Order wirh his rescinding EO's. that Obama has forced on America after being sworn in before he leaves the swearing in site.
