Donald Trump took his front-running campaign for the Republican presidential nomination to Pensacola, Fla., on Wednesday night. And, holy cow, did people come out in droves to see him.
Here's a photo of the crowd taken by WaPo's own Jenna Johnson.
*snip*
Trump's campaign claimed it gave out 20,000 tickets; the arena holds 11,500 people. According to Jenna's reporting, there were "at least 11,000" in attendance and "several thousand more were turned away."
Large crowds are the rule, not the exception, at this point for Trump. He had 8,000 people in Lowell, Mass., earlier this month; more than 2,000 showed up in Burlington, Vt., -- not exactly a conservative enclave -- to hear Trump speak last week.
I've written a lot about crowd sizes this election and how they remain an uncertain indicator of actual support. But, Trump's ability to draw thousands and thousands of people to hear him speak this close to actual voting -- we are 19 days from the Iowa caucuses -- suggests to me that the enthusiasm and passion he has sparked among a certain segment of the GOP base isn't going anywhere any time soon.

I agree.
You’re LYING THROUGH YOUR TEETH!
Caught in a lie....you backtrack pretty fast; you benighted, mendacious, puerile, little git !
If things are THIS bad now ( and they ARE horrid ), what’s it going to be like after Trump has won in Iowa, N.H., and S.C.?
What “people” are bringing up Donald’s mental illness besides your silly self?
You’re fortunate that he’s a public figure, otherwise I think you could be sued for libel. And with him, he easily could have his lawyers checking in to the possibility anyhow. I understand you’re not playing with a full deck, but someone needs to tell you there’s a line you don’t cross ‘cause there could be trouble on the other side.
Just sayin’.
OTOH, that this was posted at all, truly was reprehensible and that poster should be given a time out, at the least.
Jim caught another one : )

(We’ll see what happens with my post above....)
What other presidential candidate gets this many people to come to political rally? This was in Penscola, Florida last night. Over 20,000 people came to see Trump. Compare this to Jeb or the memorized parrot Rubio who never said uttered an original line in his political life. Ditto for the other side.
According to political professionals less than 1% of your supporters will actually come out and see you. Trump has over 20,000 supporters show up to one event on a Wednesday night, and this is not an anomaly!
Furthermore, I have no doubt if this was Jeb or Rubio getting these numbers, then the media would be saying this race is already over. Instead of attempting to sabotage it and push their Establishment sell out rat candidates.
BRAVO !
Very well stated !
Yes, he did. :-)
(Thanks!!)
Thanks!
You need to take some time away from posting, relax, and get your derangements under control.
Just as very bad posts should be called out, so should very good ones be applauded. :-)
You’re very welcome and you deserved the reply I made to you.
Lots of people go to Free Shows. they don’t charge for those campaign appearances do they?
That photo has to be phoney, Trump peaked weeks ago, I know cause Cruzheads told me.
That response might have flown except for one thing.
You and I had this conversation on 08/08/2015.

I can’t find the whole dialogue now, but I challenged you. You stated you didn’t know what it meant.
I’m not sure if more than one thread was involved, because I can’t find all the dialogue now.
