Donald Trump took his front-running campaign for the Republican presidential nomination to Pensacola, Fla., on Wednesday night. And, holy cow, did people come out in droves to see him.
Here's a photo of the crowd taken by WaPo's own Jenna Johnson.
*snip*
Trump's campaign claimed it gave out 20,000 tickets; the arena holds 11,500 people. According to Jenna's reporting, there were "at least 11,000" in attendance and "several thousand more were turned away."
Large crowds are the rule, not the exception, at this point for Trump. He had 8,000 people in Lowell, Mass., earlier this month; more than 2,000 showed up in Burlington, Vt., -- not exactly a conservative enclave -- to hear Trump speak last week.
I've written a lot about crowd sizes this election and how they remain an uncertain indicator of actual support. But, Trump's ability to draw thousands and thousands of people to hear him speak this close to actual voting -- we are 19 days from the Iowa caucuses -- suggests to me that the enthusiasm and passion he has sparked among a certain segment of the GOP base isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Read "The Art of the Deal" and will see exactly how Trump can and will right the ship.
No. The picture is from last night.
The rally where the fire marshal wouldn’t let people in was earlier. Eventually, the fire marshal let them in, and like the picture above, that rally was huge, too.
Of course, the media used the pictures they took of the earlier, emptier hall.
I’m not worried about the dems. They are mentally ill. It’s just we need a good conservative candidate and we don’t want Trump to break down in the middle of the campaign.
Are you then going to start whining and complaining when Trump supporters respond by bringing up concerns about your favored candidate?
Go read through the comments at the link. There are some real winners out there...
No, I’m not attacking Trump. Just worried about him. Don’t want to see this bring him down.
That’s great. I have been a monthly contributor for a long time and consider it one of the best investments in our country that I can make.
A lot of people are talking about Donald’s mental illness and we don’t want it to take him down.
That’s amazing. I’d like to see crowd shots of the other candidates. For example, I saw Christie speaking on TV this past week. No effort to show what was out there. Just a shot of the man and the lectern. Nothing else. That is the media attempting a false narrative that all are ‘equal’. They aren’t. The noise at the Christie even makes me think less than a hundred people.
Cute writing. Only problem is Trump has proven track record working under stress.
Quit spamming every thread with that stupid made up crap please.
It is a very stupid post that you think is potent.
You make no sense.
I know right. It’s crazy that people are bringing up Donald’s mental illness, but that’s why he needs to take care of the question. We don’t want this hanging over our heads.
Love the straw man you hoisted for your post.
Trump is as stable today, as he’s been for decades. His mind is sharp and he’s on top of his brilliant business mind game.
Maybe you’re getting him confused with another candidate. I hear THAT candidate is being reported - by a lot of people and even MORE mental health professionals - to have mental health concerns. And, his mental stability....has already broken down, on several occasions.
I’d hate to see your candidate have multiple issues to deal with, ongoing, and simultaneously.
Maybe your candidate needs several different ‘evaluations’ to proceed, or should just back out.
See how that works?
Woo Woo!
The Silver (or gold) Streak continues at lightening speed on the track across the fruited plains of AMERICA. Remember, America? Spacious skies, amber waves of grain, purple mountain majesties, and Americans, the greatest people on earth. Our country now seems to be more like the hell hole of Hades, and filled with the trash accumulated for years. To find Our Country this must be cleansed and polished. Great Americans are ready and willing to make the effort. How about the parties in America? Are they just as willing?
How sophomoric, especially from a supporter of a candidate who starred in college debate.
The only mental defect I see at this point is a preponderance to brag....big deal
This guy is going to be president and you'd better wrap your head around it
While the other candidates are breathing fire through their noses, Trump is now reciting poems on the campaign trail. Pure class.
The snake poem is already a huge hit on twitter and youtube.
Meanwhile, another candidate has some explaining to do about some dirty Goldman Sachs money that he “forgot” to report.
He is spamming the threads with his made up TDS nonsense.
Holy sh*t!!! That’s incredible! And STILL the treasonists will not listen to the people! Just yesterday we had Nikki Haley with her bizarre clenching teeth bashing Trump and pushing treasonist scAmnesty. They just do not get it. The people do NOT want criminal foreign invaders, they do NOT want the country being sold out like a cheap yard sale to Musloids and other countries, and what do they do? They give us all the finger and go right back to selling out the country. Politicians like her do NOT represent the people and they should be removed from office!
No, that concern about Donald’s mental illness is definitely out there. I’m just concerned he take care of it now.
