Nikki Haley, the South Carolina governor hand-picked by House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to give the Republican response to President Obama’s State of the Union addressed, confirmed Wednesday morning that she did indeed target GOP frontrunner Donald Trump and that the speech was approved in advance by Republican leaders.

What we are seeing being done to Trump and Cruz by the GOP is unbelievable. I remember how we all had such high hopes for these new faces like Haley and they have turned out to be no different than the Democrats.

Be careful! That was the first step for me becoming a Trump fan. I didn’t hate the guy, but I didn’t take him seriously. The more the GOPers attacked him and their base (us), the more I wanted to watch the party burn.
That was the only reason I even gave Trump a second - more serious - look.
So, Lyin’ Ryan is in-your-face to conservatives in using Haley as his puppet to preach to us about open borders. I hope a credible candidate can be recruited to run against this little Eddie Munster wannabe. Ditto for Gov. Nimrata Randhawa.
I am not a big Trump supporter but this is making it easier for someone like me who has a problem with him to vote for him for sure.
Haley allowing herself to be used by the GOPE to do their dirty work, makes her nothing but a cheap whore. I wonder what they promised her?

The progressives are self-identifying. There is one test for whether a Republican is really a progressive on the side of the Democrats: Do they lose it over Trump? If so, they are part of the Uniparty. If they don’t support Trump (for example, they prefer Cruz) but would be fine with Trump even though he’s not as conservative as Cruz, they are not on the other side. The GOPe is.
Agreed about Haley. But she is not alone.
ALL OF THEM ARE IN POCKETS OF THEIR RICH DONORS. Some of them do not like what they do. But they have no choice as career politicians except to obey their rich donor masters. They can not survive the competition in politics without their rich donors. Just one donor, Robert Mercer gave Cruz $31 Million. Are we so naive as to believe Mercer gave the money without wanting control over Cruz?
The only REAL solution is getting money out of politics.
Like they do in Britain. Very short campaign time. And limit how much each individual can donate. And no SuperPacs. And no advertising allowed until 60 days before election.
I really do not blame the career politicians. Some of them want to do the right thing. Rafael Cruz being one of them. He may want to do the right thing for all Americans, but he simply has no choice except obey his rich donor masters. The Lobbyists and ultra rich donors are our real masters. They will all push the cheap labor express of legal & illegal immigrants without exceptions.
Trump is the most unusual candidate.
He does not need rich donors.
He wants to deport ALL illegals.
He wants to build a wall and knows how to build a real wall.
He alone wants to restrict new UN-VETTED Muslims coming in.
He alone wants to solve the China/Japan/Mexico Trillion dollar trade deficit every year, the major cause of middle class jobs gone away.
No other rich guy has this mindset Trump has.
We will not get another Trump for 100 years.
The GOPE is that mad, frustrated and still that arrogant to admit to such a low life lefty attack on a Republican party front runner. These wretches are all beneath contempt and devoid of truth, loyalty or honor. Hers was nothing more than a fluff, nothing-ball, non-hard-hitting, feel-good Trump/conservatives-targeting propaganda piece on behalf of the GOP establishment power brokers.
The speech was quickly dissected, rued, booed, tattooed and screwed by astute posters here who saw right through this successful GOPe air-grab coup as well as their willing tool, Haley.
