California's roadways just got a lot more crowded - with illegal immigrants.
Nearly half of all new non-commercial licenses issued in California in 2015 went to illegal immigrants. A new Department of Motor Vehicles program granted 605,000 new drive's licenses out of 1.4 million to illegal immigrants.
"This was a major undertaking and never before had the department implemented a program such as this one," Artemio Armenta, spokesman for the Department of Motor Vehicles, told the Orange County Register Jan. 8. "We were surprised, but not unprepared."
A local member of the Tea Party Patriots told the newspaper that California's program is another instance where the needs of American citizens are trumped by the wants of illegal immigrants.
"It certainly overloads the system," said Ann Coil, a coordinator for the group. "There is concern in this country, and it's reflected in this election, that there's more compassion for people who are not citizens than those who are."
The licenses are called "AB 60 licenses" in reference to the bill that codified the program into law.

When I lived in CA (left in ‘05) I was all for illegal aliens being issued driver’s licenses as long as they were valid only in south bound lanes.
Too late now.
But they'd be perfectly legal as "voter ID." If only CA required voter ID.
Betcha the press will never look into the huge number of votes cast, compared to the number of citizens in CA.
Just like the press in and around St Louis (MO) ignored the illegal keeping of polling stations open in dem districts well past the posted closing times, and the fact that more votes were cast in St Louis county that the population of legal voters. It went heavily dem.

Does the DMV vet citizenship claims on their form? I suspect the clerks would all think it is above their paygrade and they just pump the paper through however it is filled out.
My sister-in-law delivers babies at a hospital in Santa Ana. The vast majority of the mothers are illegals who speak no English at all. California is screwed by Sacramento and screwed by porous borders. There’s no fixing it.
NJ is in the same boat; my first child was born years ago and of twenty babies in the maternity ward (in a “white” area), two were white, two were black, one was Asian/Oriental, and fifteen were Hispanic. For years I’ve been ranting that the demographic change in this country is happening at a much faster rate than our government/media will ever admit (probably to - successfully - prevent a backlash).

It’s a gift given us by both Dubya and Obama. Both of them prefer illegals to Americans.
I guess you have never served on a jury in California or talked to teachers who hate everything conservative. You would not ask that question if you had.
B$ they can get benefits with a shared utility bill. In any case you can't ask for any ID what so ever at the polling stations.
I don’t understand. They have been telling us for years that minority populations were incapable of getting a California ID.
