The Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, which received Royal Assent in March 2014, will assign a "named person" to every child in Scotland up to the age of 18 (and even beyond should the child remain in school after 18). The only exception applies to children of persons in the armed forces.
The named person, for example a midwife, health worker or school teacher, will have the power to receive and share information about the child in a number of circumstances. The legislation as presently framed does not provide a parent with any say in who the named person may be and indeed once appointed, the identity of that person may not be released. Whilst already operating in parts of Scotland, the scheme is due to be rolled out nationally by August 2016.
The functions that the named person will undertake include advising and supporting the child or parent, helping the child or parent access support or services or discussing or raising a matter about that child with other public bodies.
The arguments critical of this legislation include that:-
⢠resources presently available should be used to ensure those most a risk are helped;
⢠it is heavy-handed and an unnecessary intrusion on the rights of parents to determine how to bring up their children;
⢠data sharing/retention provisions of the act do not conform with European law and are therefore are unlawful;
⢠even if they do not breach EU law, they do not comply with the protections set out in the Data Protection Act 1998 including the concern that the named person may apply the 2014 act without having to involve the child or parents, seek their consent, or tell them when they are receiving/sharing the information; without (1) any assessment into the child's particular need for heightened state supervision or (2) the parents having a right to opt out of the scheme, the act is disproportionate and as such constitutes a breach of fundamental rights protected through the ECHR, EU and the common law.
I wonder why it doesn’t apply to children of persons in the armed forces? Seems to me that the lefties would be most concerned about exercising control over them.
Scotland is now a totally cucked nation. How sad.
What happened to the Scots?
The named person, for example a midwife, health worker or school teacher,
= = =
Same person for all 18 years, or can the person change: die, or move, or become non-expert for a different stage of the kid and family’s life?
Such logic must be lost on the Scots, who seem to have fallen in love with the social welfare police state. The fools. They've invited the government's nose under their tent, into their homes, and the entire Beast is going to be pushing behind that nose to get its entire body inside.
"People get the government they deserve," is the aphorism. So with the Scots. Enjoy it, silly Scotland. Enjoy it. Let us know how it all turns out fer ye!
Sauron
Even in Mordor, we don't have *that* kind of police state!
Just Scotland? Not the rest of the U.K.?
I don't know, let's ask one.
Not only no but hell no!
This can’t be true. Who and why would anyone vote for such?
They are sick over there and getting sicker by the day.
I can see it now. You and your wife have a baby. Now you go to the "named person" center. There are pictures on the wall of the eligible "persons". One is a transvestite. One is obviously a dyke. Another is clearly a flaming homo. There is one girl who looks okay except for the tattoo of Beelzebub on her neck. Another has rings in his nose, ears, eyebrows and tongue. And yet another looks like a regular girl - red hair, no tattoos and is dressed properly.
Now comes the big event. You reach into a jar and pull out a folded piece of paper that has the picture of "person" to be slated for your precious child. You begin to unfold it but your hand starts to shake. Your vision blurs. "Oh, God. Please let it be the girl who looks normal!" you plea silently for to say it out loud would be looked on as bigotry.
The picture slowly reveals it to be....
Jeez, my heart started to pound just writing that.
Wonder when they are going to pass a law outlawing the "unspeakable words"?
If you are a rational, traditional Brit, Scott or Welshman, GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN!! COME HERE! We need you. Europe is finished, there still is SOME hope here. Think about it!!!!
It seems like step one is Scotland.
Of course anyone who thinks it’s just step one is “paranoid” until it actually happens to the rest of the UK.
And it’s “extremely paranoid” to think secular humanists here will be cheering this on and working towards implementing this here. After all, that’s *Scotland* way across the world.
It will be “extremely paranoid” to talk about this happening here until it’s actually officially proposed and implemented.
Sad, isn’t it?
When what do you expect when you elect nationalist socialists? There’s a reason some folks refer to the SNP as the “Scottish Nazi Party”.
WTF?
Scotland is now a totally cucked nation.
